Owning a home

Well here in a few weeks, my bf and I will own a home together. We are still young... we have no idea what we're about to be thrown into. I'm terrified and excited about this new responsibility and step in life... everything is going to be different now.

With the excitement of having a home to call my own and genuinely making it mine, I need to think about whether I am ready or not for this. I've been wanting this for so long but now that it's finally here I'm scared... what if we fail?

I'm going to try to think about the positives. Like finally having privacy, changing the door locks, putting things where I want them, having general house rules that are actually followed, etc. It'll finally be our home!

We're going to have to put a lot of work in to make this place ours.. but it'll be worth it. I might make posts about the home repairs and progress of the house.

Finally completed a project I was planning to do a month ago.

Biogas is a mixture of different gases produced by the breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen, called also anaerobic digestion. It is produced from biodegradable materials and more than half of the resulting gas is methane. You can run that through a propane burner or a stove, and worldwide, lots of subsisting people do. It’s about as close to free fuel as you can get. 

Of course, if you source a self-renewing pest crop like kudzu to produce your fuel, it becomes even more cost-effective. Of course, nothing is truly free. There is some physical labor involved in maintenance and cleaning.

Cost of overhead is minimal, and a 55-gallon drum biodigester can be hacked together from found items and salvage with minimal skill. Unless it’s larger than that, a digester setup should take no longer than one afternoon.These DIY pages are pretty concise, with detailed shopping lists. If you want this to happen, it’s not hard.

Taking a poll, how many have painted their rooms personally? Like, filling the holes and sanding the walls? It doesn’t have to be something you always do, you could have just done it once.

But, if there was a product that could allowed for hands free sanding on vertical surfaces, would you buy it if you are doing a home project?
