This recipe recreates the crispy and flavorful fish from Long John Silver's right in your own kitchen. With a perfectly seasoned coating and a golden brown crispy exterior, you'll enjoy the taste of this beloved classic seafood dish.
Ingredients: 4 fillets of white fish such as cod or haddock. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 1/2 teaspoon paprika. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper. 1 cup milk. Vegetable oil for frying.
Instructions: In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Pour milk into another shallow dish. Dip each fish fillet first into the flour mixture, coating both sides, then into the milk, and back into the flour mixture for a second coating. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375F 190C. Carefully place coated fish fillets into the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side. Once cooked, remove fish from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
