People are going mad w/these reno's. I thought I found a lovely brick Victorian in Ontario, Canada. 5bds, 8ba, 4 levels, 7,000sqft living space, $5.859m. It must've been 3 separate units converted to a single family. But, I NEVER expected the interior.

Original entrance hall. You can see that there is still a separate unit on the 1st fl. We're going upstairs to the main unit. On the left, we can see that there's a built-in shelf (very convenient).

We open the door to the unit and Bam! Metal catwalks! This is insane. Now I can see why they want so much for it- this was lot of reno.

The entrance. They just made enough space to open the door, then you go up a few steps to a raised floor and note the catwalks above.

Everywhere you look, there's an intersecting catwalk. This is the new open concept living room/kitchen configuration.

They have a dining area at the other end in front of the window. (Too far to carry everything to the table, though.)

Large modern kitchen. The cabinets are nice. Those catwalk floors are open mesh- debris can fall on the counters.

Here's a little den with doors to a terrace.

The powder room has a stone sink (maybe it's resin, who knows anymore?).

Then, we're up on the catwalk. It has white mesh flooring. How do you mop that?

Then down some stairs to a TV room.

There's a bedroom behind the TV room.

It's a suite with sliding doors to the bath.

The primary suite is arranged the same way, but has doors to a patio.

Large ensuite with stairs. I'm not seeing a walk-in closet. Who needs such a huge bath?

The stairs lead to another bedroom with doors to a terrace. Kinda weird layout, to have to go thru the primary ensuite to get to your bedroom.

They say it's a single family, but there's a whole 'nother apt. in here. They put in a little marble fireplace. Doubt if it's original.

I'm confused. Another kitchen.

This must be the finished attic on the 4th level.

It has a family room and full kitchen, I guess. Unless it's a separate unit.

There's also a bedroom up here.

In the back fenced-in yard, you can see the glassed tower that they created for all the extra rooms. Now, I see where they got 7,000 sqft of living space- it's like a commercial building.

They really gutted and reconfigured this place. No wonder it's over $5m. Land Size 40 x 127 FT

The front door opens to this large entry hall that leans a little to industrial style with the gray stairs and cement floor.

This home has lots of nice angles, like this room with the panoramic view. Love the stainless steel wood stove.

Look at the interesting beam in the middle.

The open living area is pretty big. The kitchen is very large, open, and industrial gray.

There's an open pantry behind the fridge.

Over to the side there's a dining area.

Nice guest powder room. Look at how high the faucets are on the wall.

The primary bedroom is nice.

I was wondering why it didn't have access to the terrace, but it does, in the ensuite.

No matter where you sit in this home, you have a great view.

This back room would make a great studio. It opens to the patio where there's a hot tub.

Hobbity 1989 lakefront villa in Whistler, BC, Canada. 3bds, 3ba, 2,462 sq ft, $2.699m. It's also an off-grid earth ship. What an unusual property.

The front door area has a lovely picture window.

Entrance- look at the logs and the curved ceiling. I've never seen log wainscoting.

The living room walls are stone. Look at the doors and windows.

It has a nice heat stove. Remember, the house is off the grid.

Look at the hobbit cabinets and I love the blue dishwasher.

It matches the antique stove. Looks like a chef's kitchen.

This bedroom is stone and I finally figured out that's a tub. Interesting.

Orange you glad I found this 1910 orange brick in Montreal, Canada? Wait'll you see the interior of this vibrant 5bd, 3ba home. Just sold for $1.568m. Frankly, I'm surprised at the price.

It has a very large entrance hall, but it's nothing much to admire.

There's a living/dining room to the left and straight ahead, past the stairs there's the kitchen.

Lovely original fireplace in the living room. Across the hall from the dining room there's the kitchen. I like the graphic around the doorway.

This is what I meant by the reference to orange. It's a nice eat-in kitchen with new appliances and cabinetry, but it's so orange.

The backsplash looks like stick-on tiles.

This is kind of cool- a purple sink with orange cabinet and tub.

At the top of the stairs you can see into the bath's free-standing shower.

The primary bedroom isn't terribly large, but it sure is orange. Even the fireplace.

This 1928 house is known as the Doll's House. The Swiss Chalet style home was designed by William Van Egmond as a wedding present for his daughter, and became a designated heritage property in 1983. Located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, it has 2bds, 1ba, $299,900.

It is soooo cute! You enter and there is a large closet to the right.

The owners have painted it pure white, which masks the architectural features, but you can paint them contrasting colors to match your decor. Look at how interesting the fireplace is- I don't know if it was ever real- there's a wire in the wall, probably for electric logs.

The wood around the interesting triangular window is obliterated by the white paint.

I wonder what the original color of the wood was. Forget about staining it, now that the paint is on.

Look at that- a little built-in bench. Do you think that the details would look better in pastel or a dark brown or black? There's an old phone on the wall, so the bench was for sitting and talking on the phone.

Isn't the little dining area cute? Two built-in cabinets.

The kitchen is directly off the dining room, and look at the vintage door chimes.

In the vintage kitchen they painted the frame around the fridge black. I don't think I like black. Notice the small triangular window.

There's a little cupboard in the corner and maybe even a place for a small bistro table or island on wheels.

Oh, look at that, I didn't realize that the closet door is glass.

What a large primary bedroom. Very nice. More beautiful features.

Don't know when it was built b/c other countries don't usually say, but it's in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, has 8bds, 7ba, asking $5.8M and that includes the golf cart. They describe the architectural style as a "bungalow." A $5.8M bungalow. Interesting.

The marble floors are imported Marmara marble and the chandeliers are imported crystal from Vienna.

To the left off the entrance hall is a large living room with high ceilings and wainscoting.

Then double doors open to the dining room. I don't like the wainscoting- it's kind of Craftsman style and this is a European style home.

The kitchen's very large and very white. The double doors open to the formal dining room.

There's a brick feature wall, but the description says there're rare blue Calcutta marble counters and I don't see any blue.

Back in one of the wide hallways, we're about to enter the primary bedroom.

It's gigantic. Seriously, you'd need a riding floor cleaner like they have in stores, to keep these floors.

Very large bath. Look at that- a park bench in the shower.

This bedroom is nice, with the round window.

It has a nice en-suite.

I like the en-suite for this bedroom- it has a blue sink cabinet. At least it's a little different.

The home office switched to floor tile.

Interesting. The stairs to the basement have a gate. Maybe for young children or dogs.

Nice guest 1/2 bath.

I didn't know it had an elevator.

Looks like there are a few bedrooms down here.

It's not isolated, but if you don't like close neighbors, like the house hunters on HGTV, this is a good property for you.

And, you're right across the road from the water.
