homesick ☁☂
In all of Areum’s life, she had never been away from her parents for more than a couple of days. When it hit her that she would be gone for semesters at a time, away from them, she started to spiral. Living such a sheltered life came with its consequences, where the dancer didn’t know what to do without them sometimes. Messing up her laundry, eating cafeteria food, no one greeting her when she came back from classes... it was lonely. She’s never missed them more. In short, Areum was homesick. It’s not to say the ballerina completely hated Keisung. Quite the contrary, the old establishment with its odd charm was starting to grow on her. It was normal to miss her parents.
When Areum especially felt gloomy, dancing was the only remedy for her loneliness. It was why she found herself pacing the practice room, a while until her dance club would meet. The music was flowing through the room, but she just wasn’t feeling it that day. Instead of being the disciplined ballerina dancer, she was at a loss. Although her lack of inspiration during these episodes wasn’t new, it was rather disheartening to her. Then, she had two things to be upset about; missing her parents and not finding the will to dance. Tears had started rolling down her face as the ballerina paced, the song playing very conveniently reminding her of her parents. When hearing the door to the practice room open up, she was quick to wipe her eyes to avoid the embarrassment. “Uh, hey.” she turned to look at the girl, recognizing her from the many dance club meetings.
