MY(?) KARKAT
• Part (1/1) mutants
• (1/12) trolls
I’ll probably take it slow.
Right now I’m just doodling for fun.
The thing is, I’m currently working on something bigger and more important to me personally, while the trolls are just some rough sketches — not really bringing me much joy.
Except for Karkat, Tavros, and Equius.

I work on them out of turn.
Yeah, not in order.
You’ll arrange them how you need later, once you’ve collected your Pokémon.
• The only thing I’ll say about headcanons (some will apply not only to Karkat):
I personally can’t imagine Kark attr tall, or — God forbid — skinny.
I really tried to draw him fit enough and quite *soft*, slightly puffy, because I don’t want to follow that stupid «oh-so-cute-and-skinny-emo-boy» trend.
NO.
THIS IS MY BELOVED SON-BASKET, the one I’d blow on his knee if he hurt it, the son I’d feed tasty soup or porridge with sawdust even if he kicks, screams, yells, squeals, or shrieks.
I love him.
The horns are a separate topic — I *really* like how some people draw Karkat’s horns looking like crustacean claws, like those of crabs or shrimp — damn, that’s awesome.
About the scars:
First of all, I headcanon that the grub already have this extendable, insect-cool jaw, so I headcanon that by adulthood, only faint traces remain of the grubscars, along with those on the sides/ribs.
Maybe *once upon a time*, trolls had insectoid features and jaws even as adults — to make it easier and more efficient to tear things apart.
And to make them overall more *insect-like*, with chitin and such. But nowadays, unfortunately, they’re much softer and just have some markings instead.
Also, in the grub stage — especially at birth, I guess — such a jaw is way more useful than in adulthood, when there are fewer threats and less need to eat compared to when you’re just born, such a little dandy.
I’d love to draw all the developmental stages because it interests me, but... right now I’m just *so* lazy. Really.
and he also has a potato nose,
BB.
Here's a mini-comic yes yes, I hope you like it.
