"5 Years" - Björk
Let's take this from the top, This track is taken off Björk's brilliant 1997's album Homogenic, She performed this live several times before its release on her previous tour, under the title "I Dare You", vocally it evokes a sensation of impotence, a lack of patience and tolerance towards (as she refers herself) 'Cowards', but not losing a bit of self-esteem, she's bored of people who can't handle love and she dares you to take her on; musically this track owns a super futuristic programmed synthesizer (let's just remind ourselves it was late 90's), some harsh, fierce and unbelievable beats sounding like crunches and heavy noises among beautiful string sounds, finally let's appreciate the lyrics, which comes fearless and extremely decided "I've got plenty and you're the one who's missing out".
