Maintaining their respective villages had taken a large chunk of time out of both Gaara's and Naruto's lives -- pleasurable in the sense that they could dream of doing nothing else, but unsatisfactory when it came to their limited meetings and even more limited time to speak to one another without the title of Kage hanging over their heads. Do to this, the red head had no hesitance in doing the somewhat menial duty of transporting a scroll to Konoha, making use of the temporary calm the villages had been under.

There was no hesitance in the rap of his knuckles against the blonde's office door, either; if anything, it was an undercurrent of happiness that shifted within him as the sand shifted in his gourd, unrevealed on his face but altogether there at the prospect of a few moments of relatively simple chatter. "Naruto... Are you conscious?" (There had been a few times when his messenger had returned with a tale of a slumbering Uzumaki, words which only caused the slightest sigh and a shake of his head.)
