¡CALMATE KURAPIKO!
Calm down Kurapika!
HxH Phantom Rouge isn’t canon except the killugon stuff because I said so
Don’t get me wrong- mediocre movie- but Killua literally *spoilers* KILLS HIMSELF because Gon gets a friend ??
DOES HE KNOW ITS LEGAL ?
Bro is just a guy who wants to watch his friend sleep and longingly gaze into his eyes.
Yeah.
I know what you are Killua.
I think we as a fandom don’t talk enough about how sad the Phantom Rouge movie was.
“Oh yeah because of Killua trying to kill himself?-“
No. Not that.
“You’re not Uvo.”
desperately need an AU where retz (from the phantom rouge movie) & killua actually start to get along bc they’re so similar and i genuinely think they’d be such great friends.
divine puppeteer
HxH can make good movies but sucks at doing so.
I need to talk about the missed opportunity the hxh anime team could've had for the movies.
I learned very recently that the movies were made by using some rejected hxh novels as the basis for the plots, and unfortunately, they didn't do a great job of improving their original synopses. As a result, Kurapika's backstory was completely mishandled by tying it to a bizarre puppet nen user antagonist. Instead, what the hxh anime team should've done, was have turned Kurapika's backstory into a special OVA episode rather than linking it to this fever dream of a movie.
The second movie, on the other hand, almost confused some viewers by presenting a dark side of nen, WHEN NEN IS ALL ABOUT TURNING INTO WHATEVER THE NEN USER WANTS IT TO BE. I get that making hxh movies screams money, but the fact that none of them have an actual story without any plot holes annoys me to no end. That's what makes them forgettable. No amount of colorful animation or sick character design will make me think that these two movies were good.
Just like the video games, none of them got to really be appealing to me because of how the damn story had been built. I get that the main four are like the most popular group in hxh, but they could have at least made some genuinely nice movies all centered around prequels.
They could have been so creative about it, too! While other animes get to focus on the present, hxh could have had movies about the past and could have explored lots of other nice topics like the zoldyck family, the dark continent trio group (netero, zigg, linnet), the kurtas, the greed island group made by younger ging, etc. THERE IS LITERALLY SO MUCH POTENTIAL TO MAKE A GREAT MOVIE EVEN WITHOUT THE MAIN FOUR ALWAYS BEING THE FOCUS.
The movies don't have to be necessarily canon, they can just be really good and interesting pieces of media to look into while we're in hiatus right now.
And you know that the hxh team is capable of making good shit because look at how they made that one hxh mobile game about Greed Island. The trailer for it was so good that they legit made people think it was actually for a third movie when it was actually just a mobile game that you can't even play in english 💀
These guys really went all out for a GAME TRAILER 😭
they added a girl into the plot
then made Gon and Killua GAYER ??
this is hilarious actually it feels like i’m watching a killugon fic
the studio was fr crazy for cooking this one up ong 🔥
