Shield Bearer with the Ducal Arms of Saxony, honestone (ca. 1520) Hans Daucher (German, ca. 1485–1538) sculpted this sentinel to guard the entrance to Duke George the Bearded's funeral chapel at Meissen Cathedral, Saxony, Germany. Commissioned by the duke to display his family coat of arms, only this figure survived from the original pair, the other is lost. Evidence suggests the figure once wore lead or wooden wings. Loc. The Met, New York. Dim. 49.2 cm H x 20.6 cm W (19 3/8 x 8 1/8 in.).

The Minutemen - Corona

D. Boon was the singer of The Minutemen until tragically dying in a van accident in 1985. It amazes me sometimes how much music already exists that I have never heard. The radio has us listening to what's new and whats been popular, but the more I search into musical history the more substance I find... it's something popular music doesn't consistently give me, but I can always find in our past.

I could spend a lifetime following the influences of musicians.
