"they're just... the best person i know, you know?" the ending of her little speech seemed as ridiculous as everything else, but she still felt like she had to try. she'd always been a romantic, so when her friend shared their crush, talking her up seemed the only option. "anyone would be lucky to be with them."

she loved visitors. it made the long stretch of days where she was alone worth it. her eyes drank in the sight of the man, the breeze evident in his hair. "you've come to the right place," she nodded, waving off his second question. "don't worry about that. we can talk about it later. i have your room already ready for you up there." she motioned towards the staircase, the light scent of lavender and salt meeting them, as if the house itself was saying hello to its new inhabitant. "are you hungry? here," she closed the distance between them, taking his bags. "i can cook you something before you go upstairs and rest." she looked at him expectantly. "you're going to have such a good rest here."

When her friends forced her to go out with them last night Valentina did not anticipate talking with anyone, let alone bringing someone home. Unfortunately many men thought her icy gaze just screamed, flirt with me. Thankfully a handsome stranger stepped in offering to pretend to be her boyfriend to make the others stay away. From that point she didn't remember most of the night or even the walk home with him. This morning when she woke up wearing very different clothes when she wore to the bar a moment of fear flickered through her. But then as she came to find the handsome stranger sleeping on her couch she felt herself smiling, admiring his integrity. Carefully she moved to kneel next to his hand gently reaching out to push on his chest. "Good morning sunshine, you look like shit." She whispered curious to see how he would respond the morning after their fake relationship started.

"Oh, more like what hasn't she done now?" Prue replied, laughing bitterly as her friend joined her. "Having her as young as I did was both a blessing and a curse. We're extremely close, but she also reminds me way too much of myself at that age. That's probably what scares me the most." She then turned to the bartender. "Put his on my tab, please. So... How is life treating you?"

“YOU’RE WEIRDLY quiet today,” she remarked with a frown, sipping at her soda through the straw. “everything okay?”

“SUCCUBUS?” SHE echoed, scoffing. “wow, did you have to use the dictionary to pull that insult out of your pea-sized brain?” kat retorted. even though she was thoroughly annoyed with him, she kept her composure and fake smile. from the corner of her eye, she could glimpse the paparazzi hiding out behind the bushes just outside the coffee shop window. really, they’re not even good at being subtle. “half an hour,” she decided, staring at him. “although how most people can spend more than half an hour in your presence without wanting to jump out of a window, i could never understand.”
