I am in a fuck-ton of fandoms and whichever one I focus on on a day-to-day basis changes like a weird game of russian roulette (Not to mention I can get into a new fandom at the drop of a hat). However I can certainly try to list them all, in no particular order: Sander sides, DC (Specifically batfam and shazam), Danny phantom, Nicktoons, Hermitcraft, TMNT (Specifically 2012 and 2018 verse), Naruto, Unstable universe, Ninjago, Dispatch, Danganronpa, Demon slayer, Camp camp, Searching for/Destroying a world that doesn't exist, and space (This list is subject to change)
Adding onto this my interests rarely actually leave me and instead act as sleeper agents so if I haven't posted about a certain fandom in a while I probably still care about it, it just isn't my focus at the moment
Content warning for spider traits and eye weirdness under the cut! (It's Virgil and Remus respectively) Not sure how visible Remus' eye fuckery is but just to be sure! Also ramblings about Roman and Logan's traits under the cut!
Is there a particular scenario for these drawings? Not really! This started off as just Patton and Virgil drawings but then I decided to just draw all of the sides being sad and Not Emotionally Well which causes their more animalistic traits to come out :)
So, most of the sides have common animal traits assigned to them either by canon like Patton and Janus (Semi Remus?) or just popular fanon choices like Virgil and Remus, but Logan and Roman? I've only seen them with animal traits like once or twice, so! My own takes that are influenced by those one or two instances :)
Logan is a bird! Either a crow or a raven, I haven't decided yet, and he's mostly okay with it? Doesn't show them a lot but doesn't really hate it and he is happy he's assigned a creature generally seen as intelligent, but does find the maintenance of the wings annoying, especially since he isn't super flexible and would need help in preening the backs of his wings. Which is vulnerable and can be seen as intimate. Which he doesn't like. Also represses a LOT of instincts 'cause he doesn't see them as logical and is also refusing to accept he has feelings! Unfortunately, as funny as him being unable to see glass would be, he's just unable to see without glasses (He's specifically far sighted while Patton's near sighted) also something something birds usually have better eyesight than humans something something Logan needing glasses showing that he's not infallible and still very much human (or at least part of one) no matter how much he tries to seem above emotions something something his hypermetropia (Fancy name for far sightedness) being a metaphor for how feelings still cloud his judgement and he can't do anything about it, it's something deeply embedded inside of him that he can't change. Another thing about that is an idea I have that Logan's eyesight is actually getting worse! His glasses power keeps getting higher over the years and it terrifies annoys him because it doesn't make sense! There's a horror in knowing your eyesight keeps getting worse and that you can't do anything to stop it and that at some point you might be unable to see and do all the things you love because you've fucked up your eyes enough that you turn half blind (projecting? What? noooo) And that's horrible for Logan! He loves space and star gazing and seeing graphs and charts and being able to see progress happening, and he will not admit this easily but he does like seeing the other sides and their antics because he's fond of them!! So this gradual worsening of his eyesight is hell for him
Roman!! Ooooh Roman, he has ISSUES with being a dragon. Look, most kid fairytales? The dragons are the villains, they're the creatures the brave hero has to kill to get a happily ever after, they're evil. And that's something that Roman ended up internalizing! He of course logically knows that not all dragons have to be evil and stuff, there's so many examples showing that! But. But. He's that classic red dragon, the one you think of first, the one you think of with a giant hoard that kidnaps princesses and breathes fire. His insecurities do not let him forget that he can very easily look like a monster! Which is made worse after, you know, Janus' comment (You know the one.) His instinct is to hoard! A very selfish thing to do, especially since to him his hoard is the rest of the sides!! (Janus is. A Situation. But he is begrudgingly semi a part of it because Patton is and even though Patton hurt him a lot he still cares for him!) And he is trying so hard to not be selfish and be good and selfless and a hero! He is trying to be a perfect disney prince and being part dragon Does Not fit that!!! Another thing is the dragon witch! She is trying to get Roman to properly tap into his instincts instead of repressing them but he ignores her because 'she's just a villain! What if she's trying to trick me into doing something horrible?' Which is just like. No, Roman, in fact, ignoring your instincts will lead to it blowing up in your face at a horrible time and hurting others!!! Another thing is that Roman is a big romantic at heart and wants to be loved and accepted, being able to turn into a 'monstrous creature' (In his eyes, can you tell he's viewing himself from a really distorted pov?) makes it much harder to find someone who can accept him fully. However he does like that if need be he can be a big fuckoff dragon that can protect his hoard properly
Also something I wanna touch on is that Remus does a shit ton of eye fuckery on the daily, but the whole 'irises and pupils start multiplying and the pupils start to deform into different shapes' thing only happens when he's sad; different types of eye fuckery equals different feelings for Remus
This was incredibly self indulgent but! I had a lot of fun trying to decide what each side would do when they're flustered (From being flirted with) so now you get my ramblings that'll go under the read more! (Not in the tags because I have too much to say)
Logan I had an idea of what I wanted him to be doing immediately: turning away to try and hide how flustered he is because he tries hard to pretend he doesn't have feelings, and covering his mouth to both hide the giddy grin he has on his face and to stop himself from saying anything that could be embarrassing. However that hand skews his glasses which gives away that he's caught off guard and very much affected by what happened
Virgil I absolutely had to give him the sparkly purple eyeshadow, how could I not? His lightning ahoge standing up because he's caught off guard by what happened, and it's also why he has a hand up to his face; fight or flight instincts kicking in. He's also incredibly confused about why he's being flirted with :P
For Roman, I wanted to incorporate the fact that in all the times we've seen him truly and utterly ecstatic, he freezes up and can't say anything, which I also gave to Remus because they're twins! I also wanted him to have a hand coming up to his face, kinda like what one does if you get an unexpected kiss on the lips from someone you like; shaky and uncertain and half convinced what just happened wasn't real, but also wanting to feel that touch again you know? (I really hope this is understandable considering I'm aromantic,,,) It is also incredibly funny the idea of Roman, Thomas' embodiment of romance, not being able to handle being flirted with and just blue screening whenever it happens
Like I mentioned before, I like the idea of Remus also freezing up when he gets flirted with, pleasantly surprised that someone's actually interested in him not just sexually (Though he doesn't mind if they are). Not to mention that this is an incredibly rare circumstance for Remus! So he has no idea how to react, and for once he's completely still, hands stuck in their previous positions with no idea what to do with them
Patton, ahh Patton, The Heart. He's utterly struck by surprise and very giddy, vibrating in place with energy, and he might have squeaked? He's really happy yet also unsure and so is hiding his face with one of his hands, but he's peering through them to gauge how serious they are about it. He's giggling like crazy, and he isn't trying to hide the way his glasses are skewed and showcasing how affected he is by this. And yeah, him and Logan are the only ones with those little air puff things you see in anime and stuff to visualize, like, steam coming out of your head from how red you get, sue me I like making them match!
Janus I absolutely had to make him hide how flustered he is, putting a hand up to cover the side of his face that's seen (And if I wasn't so reluctant to draw more hands, he would've been using all three of his arms on that side to block their view of him) and looking the other way. I decided against drawing him with his hat because not only would he have been using it to hide his face more, which is not what I want, but also to show that he's sort of vulnerable and open at the moment since he absolutely could just sink down and leave but he chooses to stay and let the person see that they affected him. Well, half that and half the fact that Thomas, and by extension Janus, is actually kinda bad at lying, especially when put on the spot. Not to mention he's frustrated that he's flustered by the flirting! He's supposed to be the smooth motherfucker who flusters someone effortlessly! He's not supposed to be the one being flirted with!
Aand to top it all off, I noticed that when Thomas gets flustered or embarrassed, his whole face turns red, including his ears, which is why they're all so red :)
