港鐵今日向立法會議員交代，西港島綫工程出現阻滯，支綫原本預計今年年內通車。但港鐵今日向立法會議員透露，西營盤站出入口工程有阻滯，若要如期在年底通車，列車將不停西營盤站，整條西港島綫或要延至明年第一季才能全面啟用。

港鐵指，若要如期在年底通車，後備方案是列車暫時不停西營盤站，直至西營盤站完成，否則就要整條路線延至明年第一季通車，港鐵將在今年10月再公佈確實時間表。

港鐵工程連環爆出延誤，蘋果日報本月初，已揭發港鐵西港島綫，因車站工程延誤，或令部份車站出口無法在通車時同步啟用。港鐵當時承認，車站工程有延誤，但堅稱年底投入通車目標不變。
