FINALLY Made it to #HongKongDisneyland. I've only been waiting for this moment for 6 months. Photo courtesy of @rmims316 #HongKongLiving #MagicOfDisney #MinnieEars 😊🌉🐭🎊 (at Hong Kong Disneyland 香港迪士尼樂園)
My favorites aced their final exams today. I even more so appreciated that they high fived each other afterwards. Then all they wanted to do with the extra time was read. Students after my own heart!! 😊📚📖#HongKongLiving #LoveLoveLove
I just unlocked the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: Katniss sticker on GetGlue

Sometimes it's great to see sights like this to remind myself...I can't believe I live here!! 😊 #HongKongLiving

Wearing my Minnie Mouse bow I got at the Mid Autumn Festival standing in front of a Justin Bieber concert ad. Peter Pan syndrome at its finest. #sorryimnotsorry 😜🌕🎵🎹🍁🍃🍂
There are certain books that are made into movies that I will see no matter how many times they are done. This is definitely one of them.
So sad it was my last day with the #MeiFooCrew today before moving to another center in HK next week. The BEST coworkers and friends this girl could ask for her first 2 and 1/2 months in HK!! ❤✌
It’s been awhile since I made a proper update from Asia. So much has happened since I left mainland China, and it’s been one crazy (albeit awesome even with its highs and lows) ride so far.
I arrived in Hong Kong after leaving Yidu at the end of June with my roomie extraordinaire, Rachel. Leaving Yidu was bittersweet. I had a great year there, but I was ready to move on. We had a few days to tour around Hong Kong before diving right into training at our new school. I very quickly came to realize why so many people love this city. It’s big, and it’s bold, and it’s amazing. I genuinely enjoy living amongst the hustle and bustle here even if the crowds can get to me at times. I feel like I’ve adapted to being crammed in like a sardine in many areas. It’s crazy how fast you can get used to something you never thought you would. Our flat that we were placed in is located in Mongkok, which I am told is the most densely populated area per square mile in the entire world. It’s just total madness at any given time, but I love it. Teaching has been going pretty good. The difference in ability levels with students here from Yidu is insane. Kids here are so advanced in their education, almost to the point that I feel like I’m talking to a mini adult. Every now and then they will do or say something that makes you think “Oh right...you’re only 6!”
One of the best things about living in such an international city, is meeting different people from all over the world. I love that at any one time or place I can be hanging out with someone from any given country, or even any part of the states. I’ve met some really awesome people and had some really unforgettable times even in just the two and a half months I’ve been here. I’ve met different coworkers from all different locations throughout our school. Since starting in July, I was placed at a center with four other teachers. I can honestly say I’ve never so quickly become so (almost embarrassingly so on my part...ha, ha) attached to a group of people before. When you’re living abroad, I think you start to form your own family away from home and it’s important to have people you can bond with that have common interests. I felt really lucky to be placed into a group of people that I get along with so well, and also people who were so welcoming to me right off the bat. It’s been really amazing for me to be there. About two weeks ago I got told that I was moving to another center to become head teacher. My family is definitely excited for me and I’m looking forward to the opportunity, but I know it will be bittersweet leaving people I feel like I’ve formed a genuine bond with. I know I’ll still see them outside of work. I’ve already warned them I might hunt them down to hang out with me.
In all there’s been a lot of change since leaving mainland China. Sometimes I think about it, and I still can’t believe I’m living here. Obviously I miss friends and family back home, but I’m really loving my time here in Hong Kong. I’m looking forward to coming home to the states for a visit during Christmas time.
Current Music I’m Listening To: The 1975, Daft Punk, and Lorde.
Until next time…
xoxo, Amy

Don't you worry, #HKDisney...I'll be seeing you soon 😉👍
Freaking awesome. If this doesn't make you smile, I don't know what would.
Hello everyone. I wanted to reach out to my fans out there that continuously support me and have my back relentlessly throughout the years. I am so grateful and fortunate for your dedication. Your time & devotion. Your kindness and understanding. Your patience and compassion. I continue to work, create and deliver my best to you. I wanted to share with you a few thoughts that come to mind when I think of you all and the constant love I am blessed to receive from you over time.
So you guys, if I were to ever have Asian kids...these would be them. The hoodie is killing me! 😊👍✌
You can't see the rain very well, but T8 status is in full effect. #HongKongProblems #Typhoon #TEight (at Upstairs Mansion)
Just a very small portion of the madness I see on my way home from work every night. ✌#HongKongLiving
