wait wait this is too cute uhh i dont have many super detailed thoughts but.

 i feel like he wouldnt be religious or outwardly jewish in most ways but when you look closer at his cabin you’ll see a few clues. a tarnished silver mezuzah that a relative insisted on giving him, nailed into the doorway to his bedroom. a dusty rudimentary menorah he carved himself one cold night out on the porch when he was feeling reminicent. every few years when he’s feeling especially lost he’ll put on an old record of shul prayers he heard when he was little, clumsily mumbling along half-forgotten hebrew. ok im stopping cause otherwise im never gonna finish this final but anyway 😔💖💗💓

12. what is an image that viscerally terrifies you?

i feel like there have definitely been a few images that have bothered me in some way but i think the only image to come anywhere near visceral terror is the head smashing scene in midsommar. pretty sure that scene is burned into my retinas

21. what children’s story/nursery rhyme scarred you as a child (or as an adult)?

the green ribbon!!! i read it for the first time after checking out the anthology it was in from my elementary school library and this viscerally terrified me. idk what it was about that story that absolutely fucked me up but i had never been more scared after reading anything in my life until i read that. tbh it’s one of my favorite children’s stories now though lmao
