While I think Addy definitely likes hurting people and having power, a fact cemented once she got a taste of it — I also think a lot of her behavior stems from the way people have treated her. I think she's felt powerless and out of control, maybe even used, and it's made her want to make sure she never feels that way again. Does she enjoy what she does? Yes. It's obviously not an excuse, she's very cruel and definitely sometimes just for the sake of being cruel. But in some ways, I believe she's very much a product of the violence society so often inflicts upon young girls.

there's something so insidious about the fact that i was just scraping nametags off the tile with a fucking knife from a bunch of politicians who called me Scallops Girl all night instead of my actual fucking name. my view was their shoes as they stood there discussing with each other what frivolous items they were spending their money on, and planning golf days with each other, and talking about their designer suits. i waited on these people all night as part of a fucking 50hr work week that im working bc i almost starved this past month despite working all the hours it was possible for me to work
