Jason's whole character arc centers around the question "Who is Jason Grace?" At the start of the TLH, even Jason doesn't know the answer to that question as the series progress he starts gaining some parts of his memories.

While he is gaining his memories, we(the audience) learn more facts about his life too. We learn that Jason has been raised as a soldier, he has been at Camp Jupiter for years. He is expected to be the perfect roman, the perfect soldier.

Then we watch as Jason tries to gain a new identity away from all of the expectations. He tries to become something other than a champion of Juno, he tries to be something other than a soldier.

And for a while he manages to escape his soldier status. He leaves Camp Jupiter, has a (semi)stable relationship with Piper, has new guardians(Mellie and Coach Hedge), has his friends etc.

After a while, he and Piper broke up. Mellie and Hedge blame Jason for the breakup so he moves to an all-boys boarding school. Then he and Piper go into the Labyrinth, here Jason learn that either he or Piper has to die.

In the end, he dies in a quest and his character arc comes to an end as the audience finally recieves an answer to the "Who is Jason Grace?" question.

The answer is that Jason Grace was a soldier who was born to die for the gods from the very beginning. Him trying to gain another identity aside from Juno's champion was pointless from the beginning. He was meant to be a hero that died for the Gods, his fate was sealed the day he became Juno's champion.

His story ends with his body being brought back to Camp Jupiter, the place that raised him to be the perfect soldier.

What if instead of doing the forced exchange program, Juno sent Jason on a quest, promising that he would find out more about his family from before Lupa. Eventually he makes his way to Camp Half-Blood where introduces himself, and Annabeth, Percy, and Grover (or whichever of them is there) immediately responds with “I’m sorry, Jason What, Son of Whom?” And then after he confirms they heard him right, they tell him to stay right there while they run off to go make a quick call. Roughly two minutes later the moon descends out of the sky, and a teenage girl runs up to him and holy shit that’s his sister, he was only two the last time he saw her but he knows that that’s his sister what the fuck

You ever just think about how Hera the Godess of Marriage hates every bastard Zeus has but wept for Jason Grace, the demigod that Zeus had with Beryl, the one who looked like her husband's mistress? Granted Jason Grace was offered to her, almost like a sacrifice, but she was a goddess. She could've killed that baby but she chose him as her hero, called him her Champion. She was consistently portrayed as a stuck-up, spiteful wife who hated everyone, but at the same time she was also the one who initiated the modern Greco-Romano union. The first Olympian who inititated countermeasures against Gaea in the Second Giant War. The Goddess who ultimately restored harmony within family.

What if the roman gods still switched back and forth between their greek counterparts but they dont remember their greek memories besides a fuzzy memory in the back of their head and vice versa.

I still want HOO to happen, and I think Hera was the one who really set everything into motion? (Haven't reread in a hot minute) But what if she was the one to do so, how about switching Jason and Percy was because she felt a slight pull telling her to do it; voices in her ear from Juno.

Mainly I came up with this for the angst factor because when Percy reaches Camp Jupiter and everyone figures he's the son of Neptune. I want Mars to show up after the War Games and say he is not of Neptune. That kid is war, he is destruction to life as you know it. When Mars goes to look at Percy directly he gets this intense headache that leaves him screaming and clutching his head.

This whole idea sows more seeds of distrust between the Roman's as well as the Greeks, because if even the gods don't know what's going on, then the world has truly gone to Tartarus. Why bond together? When you can follow history and be Greek vs. Roman again.

Jason's split between Greek and Roman can reflect the the Roman and Greek gods: an actual division. Jason is torn much like the gods are actually torn between two realities that they can barely remember from one form to the next.
