It is just past noon when the couple manage to leave the manor home walking hand in hand down the sidewalk towards the park knowing that the children will be in school, and most of the town will be busy with work or tending to their own affairs. Surprisingly they haven’t been bombarded with calls to the house or Regina’s mobile, and not a soul has popped up on the doorstep. The space being given to them is a blessing for the thief is still silently struggling with a great many things, and also the guilt that he feels for needing to be with his soulmate for at least a little while before they delve into how in the world he is going to find his place in everyone’s lives again.
Word has been sent to Roland of his return, and he expects that once his son receives the message the adventure the young man is on will come to an end so that he can return home. The Henry’s are going to meet up with them in a few days to have lunch together, and then if Robin isn’t overwhelmed by then he’s looking forward to meeting Lucy as it sounds like they all are going to meet up at the bowling alley to have some fun. The most difficult reunion that is causing the most anxiety, and stress is the one with his daughter.
He’s been very quiet on that front but he’s well aware that Regina knows that it is tearing him apart inside not knowing what to do. She’s assured him that everything will be alright but he’s certain that it won’t be. His daughter was an infant when he last saw her and now she’s a grown woman with a life of her own. He wasn’t there. He doesn’t know her. Why would she want to have anything to do with him now? This is something he has no idea how to mend or if it is even capable of being mended, and there’s still a part of him that is certain that Roland will be cross with him as well.
Robin now sits upon a bench facing the placid park lake and wraps his arm about Regina at his side trying to relax the tension in his frame. His eyes drift shut as the sounds of rustling leaves fill his ears, and the smells of the forest seep into his very soul. A slight smile starts to creep across his face as he picks up the crisp apple smell that somehow always clings to his queen. He teases her that she must do something magically for it to linger upon her skin as it does because he knows for a fact that her sprays are not strong enough to last all day. After a long silence he sighs out a breath, snugs her closer to him, and forces his leg to stop anxiously bouncing. “I know that I am avoiding nearly everyone, and that’s rather cowardly. I need to see my daughter first, and Regina I haven’t a clue what I am going to say to her that can ever make up for not being a part of her life.”
