Weekend project completed!

I bought a new hook knife recently for the much recommended Deepwood Ventures. I decided I wanted to make my own handle for it out of walnut with some grip details and it turned out to be very comfortable. Then a quick and dirty leather sheath to keep it safe.

I will say out of the box the edge was already wicked sharp! Can't wait to use it...

Restored hook knife .

Ive been using this old half tang’d hook knife for many years in the workshop and camping as my go to wood skinning knife when working with green wood.

Recently re conditioned its high carbon steel with a beech wood handle but no makers stamp . The edge has been polished and I have made a simple leather pocket slip pouch for my back pocket .
