This is a latchhook I made in 2018 out of scraps from 30 years’ worth of latchhook rugs.
I finished it!! Or, I should say that I finished the hooking part of my rug… I still need to finish the edges, carefully sewing them under, cutting off the frayed parts. I just can’t stop looking at it though. I have been working on this daily, ever since early July, when @hookingrugs first showed me how to pull a loop through the linen backing, in one of her online tutorials. It’s easy, slow, satisfying, warm and comforting. After much deliberation, I think we will simply throw it over the back of the sofa, in the living room, so that it doesn’t get damaged, as it would if it lived on the floor. Now, where’s my magic wand? I need to hem the edges...
