HOKAY. first day off since I've started work. Got sort of a busy day planned with friends and such but I just wanted to get on here to say I'M NOT DEAD IN A DITCH. I've just been soooo busy with work and other things that I've had hardly any time for tumblr...I'm gonna try to get used to my schedule and hopefully find time to set up a queue so my blog isn't totally dead, but YEAH.

so. random, but I've decided my summer hobby is to start hoop dancing!! I'm super friggin pumped, and i'm gonna spend some time today pricing everything out, but I've decided that instead of buying a hoop online i'm going to have a hoop making party and make a bunch of hoops for myself and others, since it's actually cheaper to make them in bulk rather than buying a single one online. SO EXCITED. :DDD

i made a batch of hoops for the church i work for. they conveniently wanted to buy 20 and i very conveniently had just enough tubing left for exactly 20 hoops. and they got a damn good deal. i did too i suppose, considering i was just going to give them away.

Day 13

Went to three different home improvement stores scoping out prices for hoop making supplies and came across an employee probably my father's age. He was all interested in learning about why I needed irrigation tubing that I got to explain to him about hoop dancing, taping, the difference in the size of the tubing and how it affects rotation, etc. Off the cuff I told him people even made LED hoops and right away he said "follow me!" And he showed me right where to find flexible LED strips and how I might even go about installing a rechargeable set in the hoop! Then I asked him where the wicks were and we got talkin about fire hoops :p

yesterday at Rockabilly Rumble was so much fun (and thoroughly exhausting!). sold a few hoops and had a great time, I'd say a successful first vending experience! i was even gifted a lovely tie-dye shirt and made a contact for another potential vending gig. 

so so much love and thanks to my SEESTER Allison for coming up this weekend to hoop it up with me and help me out with everything - i know i could not have done it without her and i certainly wouldn't have had nearly as much fun as i did!
