" you wanted to speak?"
"I did?" The words leave his mouth before Obi-Wan is fully awake. He's slumped over his desk with his head pillowed on a pile of loose flimsiwork, apparently having fallen asleep some time after starting his third cup of tea (which has sadly gone cold). It's far from professional, but he can hardly bring himself to care. If Prince Regulus continues to stay at the temple then he is going to catch him (and plenty of Jedi and plenty of Clones) in much more embarrassing positions. "Yes, that does sound like something I'd do . . . oh, yes! I found some record of your people!
"Very. Very old records." But the Jedi are a very old culture and there was bound to be some overlap between the two. "I don't have them . . . physically here yet—I requested them from the main archives—but I was going through the list of known species within the Order and an unspecified one was mentioned which reminded me of you. Tall, six limbed, somewhat gangly, and a talent for changing shapes? The individual lived at least ten-thousand years ago and I've yet to find document of their name, but I think someone from your planet was once here. In this temple."
@hoovedrycal liked here for a fall/Halloween starter and got Alex!
Alex raises her eyebrows in surprise. "Wait...really? You've never celebrated Halloween before? Why not?" She knows some parents don't like the holiday. Or is it something else entirely?
"We have to fix that, dude. Halloween is so much fun." A pause, a chuckle. "I have no clue what I'm dressing up as this year, but I'm sure I'll think of something." Maybe she'll be a bit on the nose and dress as a werewolf. No one except her pack and Victoria would know she actually is one, after all. So she could definitely get away with it for her Halloween costume.
@hoovedrycal said: “ i think you’d make a good cervid.”
That warmed him in a way that was unfamiliar and gentle. It was pleasant and comfortable, and it made him smile. Perhaps it was the feeling that he didn't belong among his own species, or the fact that other people seemed to agree with that fact, but whatever the case, it made him glad to know that this man thought he would belong within his own species. Not that there was anything he could do about it, of course, but it was a nice thought.
"Thank you," he said. Then he paused for a moment. "For what it's worth, I think you make a good human."

Atieno had said nothing about escaping. That they weren't really capable of and the fact that this was assumed of them was enough to have their own mood feeling a bit sour.
It seemed like someone was projecting onto them and damn it, they had to put a stop to that. Quickly.
"I wish you didn't assume I wasn't thinking about horrors. I never said anything about ... not being horrors. Why do you think my mind isn't quiet. Ever.. really."
The sheer weight of the kind of memories that they constantly carried would truly overwhelm one given individual no matter their origin. So forgive them for being a little tense at his .. tantrum, even if it seemed to be justified.
"I'm sorry for what you have been carrying, I will never deny that isn't difficult. But I ... really would recommend you not assuming what I was and wasn't thinking about."
< care to talk?>
The question of talking with Regulus did make Zora come to attention. They had been so busy with the flurry of activity in the past few weeks, they had barely realized that it had been some time since they had last connected with Regulus.
Seems like it would only be right that they took a moment to actually catch up with him.
"Oh yeah, sure. It would be nice to talk. I know it's been some time since I had last seen you.. how are you doing? What's been new with you?"
@hoovedrycal asked: " are all earthlings quiet?"
Fabian turned to the stranger, his brow furrowed in confusion. Earthlings? Like, people who lived on Earth? What was this person, an alien?
"I...beg your pardon?"
Koa had no idea where she was. She was actually on her way to another planet where she was supposed to meet her master. But there were problems in hyperspace, which spat her out in a wrong place, straight into a miteroid field.
As if that wasn't bad enough, her ship was hit and Koa had to make an emergency landing on an unknown planet. Of course, she couldn't establish a connection here either, meaning she couldn't reach her master or the Jedi Temple.
Now Koa wandered around the planet alone, trying to get help from, but no one here could speak the common language, or any other language that Koa was able to speak. This only made everything more difficult.
After another failed attempt to start a conversation with an inhabitant, Koa sighed in disappointment.
"Why is there no one, I can talk to…" she muttered hopelessly.
