It seemed that everyone was whispering about something and he was the last to know this secret. The general seemed to look at him with some form of pity. The one he’d been told about, the ex-stormtrooper seemed more visibly sad. Like looking at him was causing him physical pain. But the smuggler? There was something else in her eyes. “I’m not going to talk so you can just kill me.” He would not tell the resistance anything. They could pry the secrets from his cold dead hands.

The cell they had him in seemed nicer than he had expected for a prisoner. The chains reminded him that they didn’t trust him here.

Once he set his ship - the TARDIS - on random, it instantly knew where to go. He held on to the console til the ship landed with a soft thud. Once the ship did land, he walked out the doors, wondering where he was this time. He looked around at the desert planet he was on - with sand dunes and wrecked starships. He walked slowly down a sand path (which looked like someone had used it minutes before) and stood behind a dune, looking out at the horizon. As he looked over at it, he didn’t notice anyone behind him and he fell over when he felt something run into him.

The jungle sounds of Ajan Kloss that surrounded the Resistance base were a welcomed contrast to the more mechanical humming and whirring that Ben had grown accustomed to hearing constantly over the last ten years. The first few times, he had been startled by the birds or small jungle creatures, to which Poe and Finn had laughed and called him "jumpy." But after several days -- and with his leg and ribs finally healed, allowing him the mobility to explore instead of just hear the mysterious critters -- he was growing used to the pleasant background noise. Returning from a walk under the stars, he found Rey in the same spot where he'd left her, eagerly pouring over the tomes of the Jedi.

Making enough noise with his footfalls so she would know he was there as he approached, Ben wrapped his arms around her shoulders, buried his face against her hair, and breathed in. "Tomorrow I'll help you with these studies," he promised. "Maybe my... unique perspective could bring something to light." But for now, he deeply wished to sleep, with her head on his chest and her hand clasped in his.

Such a brilliant Poe! There is more to the man than just a flyboy pilot. He's a man who has suffered loss, carried the weight of a war on his shoulders and faced horrors that people could only experience in their nightmares. You do a beautiful job conveying his emptions.
