He'll awake one morning and, not knowing why, will post on the internet a review of a beer he's never heard of. He'll believe he's dreamt it. It will be called 'Hoptimistic', and he will attribute this name to an imagination that he thought he had lost. He will then forget all about it. Many years later we'll enter, you and I, a bar he happens to be working in. By this time you are a renowned, if modest, brewer of beer and I am your same drunken friend. After we've ordered our bevereges of choice, our conversation happens to turn to the first beer you ever gave me to try. You, or is it I, say the name of this beer: Hoptimistic. We laugh, that lovely, deep laugh of nostalgia. He hears this and his eyes fill with tears although he doesn't, can't, know why. He turns to give us our drinks and we notice the tears in his eyes and none of us knows what to say.
