We’ve been getting a lot of rain lately and the kiwano vines aren’t too happy with that but we still managed to have a couple of these bad boys growing. Taking notes for next year, these are best planted in spring so that they can grow during the summer when it’s dry. Pretty much the only difference you get here as far as season changes. Back to basics who remembers Magaka in Shona 🇿🇼 (Horned Melon). Still harvesting crazy amounts of Kiwano and plenty more still in the patch. Each one of my neighbors has gotten one for seeds and still have plenty more for snacking 😊. Second picture shows where my Kiwanis are growing. Literally sprawled over weeds, unkept and wild. All I had to do was stay out of the way. Plenty of chery tomatoes sprouted in between the vines as well.
