Chum with a special little human in their small boat for 1 that gave him some cooked fish because they noticed something was protecting them? 🥺 just threw it out to sea, no questions asked ❤️❤️❤️

Hehe I really liked this one >w< More people should give me asks for Chum. It's one of my favorites!

Chum wasn’t 100% sure why it decided to help out this little boat. Maybe because the person in it was so… small? They had just a small, little boat in a big blue ocean.

If a wave hit the boat, it would make the boat shake a little. If there was a way too big wave, Chum knew it would crash or even tip over. Why were they in such a small boat? Well, Chum knew why! They needed food, huh?

It decided to help.

It watched and made sure that the boat wouldn’t tip over! If it saw the boat tip too far to one side, it would use one of its many tentacles, righting it so the boat wouldn’t fall over.

The person in the boat didn’t notice it at all. Even though Chum was huge, it was an ambush predator. It moves silently, unnoticed, until the lights come on, then the water gets filled with a bright, blue glow, and you know that it has already caught you.

It normally uses its large tentacles to crash ships. It knows that people know it, too. It has heard legends—people talking about the dangerous glow that shows up and how you should be prepared to crash land… if you’re even alive that long.

At least, that’s what it thought. It realized that maybe the person in the ship did notice that it was helping because, out of nowhere, they threw in their largest catch of the day. The fish was cooked, so it knew that it wasn’t an accident. “Thank you for helping me!” They called out, their words being carried by the salty sea air.

Chum slowly moved his hands to catch the food. It might have been huge to the little human, but to it, the fish was nothing but a sliver. Anyway, it ate the food, and it tasted better than anything that it could have caught. Why? Because it was made for it! The food was made just for it to have, to thank it for helping them.

It was made with love.

And after that, it followed the ship as close to land as it could, wanting to see the human get off safely, and once they did, it swam away, back to the cliff that it calls its home. It was going to pay… very close attention to this human.

What are your Siren sanses like? (Horror, classic, and fell.) Are they the ones from a lot of popular fiction where classic is pretty much insane and uses clicks, horror has pretty lights/no singing voice, and red is oddly nice but also extremely intimidating for absolutely no reason? oh and flirty too. Also I can't find your charactar lost, what are their names 😭😭😭😭

To be honest, I don't really have a Classic or a Fell, but now I have Pixy! And Classic... hm... his nickname is Nutty, and he's a coconut octopus! :D perfect. I'm the best/j

Chum is the horror version, and he's huge! Like, able to hold someone in the palm of his hand if he wanted to, and yes, he is very glowy. He lives near a cliff, and normally is seen there. (seen being a bad word to use, tbh lol) he normally attacks ships and crashes them if he thinks that they're hurting the ocean too much. He enjoys little boats much more than the large ones! He would protect little boats from everything and everyone. (mostly people fishing little bits for their own food)

Pixy, on the other hand, hates people who fish because he thinks that humans shouldn't be in or near the water. He's almost always messing with them secretly. He would help out if he thinks the person is good, though? It's rare for him to think that. He doesn't know how to do the siren song, funnily enough! He's the smallest out of the mers other than maybe Pinks.

Nutty doesn't really care too much about people coming into the water, and he might even follow them around if he thinks that they'd be fun! He often steals stuff from the ship after getting up on top of it. He's never seen because he's the best at hiding (even rivaling Mimic, funnily enough) he's scarily smart.

Id like to request your mer skeles with a shy mer S/O. How theyd be.

S/O likes to hide n shadows, and sand, and seaweed. Uses the element of surprise to hunt but is very good at it. Patient enough to pull it off and smart enough to know the patterns of where the prey will be. Doesnt talk much. Is good at healing others when needed.

Is a snugglebug too.

Mimic: He likes you a lot! He finds your shyness cute, and sometimes likes to mess with you. He likes to make his tentacles look like snakes or other creatures, mimic octopus and all, and trick you into thinking they're different things. He finds your reactions really cute. He'll talk enough for the both of them, and he doesn't mind that you don't talk much. He does like the fact that you're a merfolk and a cuddly one at that. It makes him feel pretty good.

Ringer: He likes the fact that you're quiet, since he is as well. He's not exactly a slow or careful hunter, but he likes to see what you do. He has his... stuff that comes with being a blue ringed octopus, so seeing you hunt is always kind of exciting? Interesting, more or less. The cuddly part is something that he would have to get used to because he normally doesn't like to be touched. Just don't sneak up on him, and everything will work out fine.

Chum: Well... sometimes Chum forgets where you are, and it'll go and try to search for you. It can be fun, or it can be worrying to it since it likes knowing where you are. Yeah, it's pretty much the biggest thing in the ocean, but that just means it's easy to lose its tiny datemate. You. It likes how cuddly you are and will sometimes let you fall asleep in its skull or its ribs, so then you wouldn't get lost! You'd also be in a really safe space. Nobody could hope to attack you while it's there.

Light: Unlike you, he is not a hunter in that sort of way. He eats mostly plants or jellyfish, maybe some sea urchins. But he likes seeing you hunt, he finds it really interesting and exciting to see! Sometimes you two work together to help you catch stuff since he's so... well... soft and sort of weak looking? He's not! He could fight if he wanted. He's one of the most dangerous creatures in the ocean. Just like his brother.

Deep: Well, that's exactly how they hunt too. Have you ever been in pure darkness and then a light appears? That happens to whatever they're hunting, and they don't ever have enough time to get away. It's pretty scary, really. You two can hunt together! How fun. They don't mind you being cuddly, but they aren't really the most cuddly merfolk...

Inker: He likes that you're quiet, but he doesn't like the fact that you're so cuddly. He doesn't really... like to be touched and will often swim away before you could. Plus, it's dangerous! He doesn't want to accidentally hurt you or shoot ink on accident. So if you ever want to cuddle with them, you have to ask first, or they'll probably get startled. That's not something either of you want.

Angel: She loves you for being cuddly! She'll swim around you a lot, though she isn't very fast with her 'wings'. Sometimes, while you're trying to hunt, she, uh, would accidentally scare your prey away. She isn't the smartest, so it might be best to hunt while you're not with her or around her.

I went for the Bad Mer Sanses :)

Mimic: Once Mimic notices that you were spying on him, he would chase over and good luck getting away from him. He would swim around you, laughing as he asked, "How come you're trying to spy on me, plant lady?" He won't try to attack, but he would have a few questions!

Ringer: He will attack if he thinks that you're a threat, and spying on him seems a little threatening. If you explain before he lands a hit, he will stop and listen to your reasoning… Why were you spying on him? He doesn't like people looking at him without him knowing.

Chum: He wouldn't notice haha. I'm sorry, he sucks at figuring things out like that… So yeah, have fun spying on him :)

Deep: He would of course notice and he dislikes it. He might not react at first, expecting you to just go away but the longer you're around the less likely he would just ignore it. He would ask you why you were spying on him with annoyance in his voice. If you don't have a good reason, it will be dangerous. Sorry.

I’m now curious, how would the Mer boys react to a s/o that was part reaper leviathan(the one from Subnautica)? Or just a leviathan in general?

These got longer than I thought they would -w-'

Scales: Scales finds you really interesting. Normally he wouldn’t like way too aggressive/mean sea creatures, ironic given his brother is a shark but they aren’t normally aggressive, shut up. Even so, after getting to know you, he finds you really fun to hang out with! Your eyesight isn’t the best so he would love to just latch onto you and curl his tentacles around you and tell you where stuff is so you wouldn’t bump into it. Sometimes he would fall asleep on you/wrapped around you, which he finds really funny. He likes how pretty you are too...  

Shark: He doesn’t see why people are scared of you! You’re cute! It’s just like that meme “they don’t bite!” he thinks that the sounds you make to see where you’re going is kinda freaky to hear when you don’t know who’s causing it but he knows it’s normally you! Reapers seem to dislike it when others come around their area so he doesn’t need to worry about any other ones coming too close. He likes to swim with you and will help you catch stuff to eat. He likes seeing you grabbing stuff with the things on your face! He thinks it’s so cool!

Mimic: Malewife. He thinks you’re the coolest thing in the world and will tell you that all the time. He feels SOOOO into you and will always tell you how hot it is when you catch things with those things on your face, and he loves to see you tear things apart with your sharp teeth and claws. Heart eyes each and every time. You both are pretty sucky with eyesight but he’s a bit better and will help you get around if you don’t want to let out that loud sound that helps you get around. 

Ringer: He doesn’t really see the big deal in you. You’re big, scary, and aggressive, sure, but so is Chum. You’re just his datemate and he loves you but he doesn’t make what you can or can’t do a big deal. 

Chum: Mimic likes to call them a power couple, which Chum finds funny. A lot of people are scared of him or at least of his idea. He’s heard the stories that people tell on ships, knows that they fear him. He dislikes it but this isn’t about all of that! He thinks that you’re really cute, you’re smaller than him by some but you still like to be dangerous and he finds you interesting. The both of you have bad eyesight and you normally help him find his way around with your sounds. He likes to gently wrap his tentacles around you whenever you two are relaxing together. 

Light: He lives up in the top of the water while you’re normally deeper in it, and he feels bad that you sometimes have to come up just to see him so sometimes he would go down to swim with you! It’s a little dangerous for him cause he can’t swim that fast with the shape of his tail. He was made mostly for beauty in looks rather than speed or anything like that... luckily most wouldn’t try to attack him with you around! Plus he gets to see his brother more often while around you which is nice. He makes jokes about how he has a large scary creature too! Like how Deep has Chum... he doesn’t think you’re really that scary though, cause you’re his partner and he loves you. 

Deep: You interested him the first time he met you, and that was why he spoke to you the first time most likely. After that you two just kept meeting most likely and that’s how it all started. He thinks that you’re interesting and quite amazing to watch swim around, and he sometimes has a hard time keeping up so he would wrap himself around you enough to where you would be able to swim and he could just... ride along. It’s something that he had to do for Chum sometimes whenever they all swam together. He doesn’t care if you crash ships or hurt humans. He could not care less about them.

Mers meeting her, please! (She's about like... the same size as Chum?)

Mimic: GIANT GIRLFRIEND! He loves you SO much. He wants to nuzzle into your chest, or sometimes he hides your hair and rushes out to startle others. He finds it so funny, while you most likely giggle and snort at him. He loves your big smooches, too.

Ringer: Sometimes he likes to rest on top of your head while you swim, enjoying being able to rest and you're able to go a lot faster than him because of how big you are. Won't lie, he likes you a bit more than Chum, just because of how soft you look. You're really sweet… he loves it and hates it.

Chum: It isn't used to people around the same size as it, so honestly, at first it would avoid you! It finds you interesting, exciting even, but also very scary. Slowly, after a while, it would decide to go and talk to you, or bring you gifts then swim away before you could talk to it. Its friends find it very funny how awkward it got. It finds your hair really fun to play with and you two together is most likely SO scary.

Light: he loves his big big girlfriend ^^ he'll often swim around you while you guys are swimming around and he likes how blue you are while he's such a bright yellow… let him snuggle into your hair! Plz. When he first met you, he was a little unsure and scared, but that's just because you were so big! Quickly he would realize that you were nice and he grew close and attached to you quickly.

Deep: They do not normally see anyone as big as you, other than Chum, but you catch their attention and they sort of like it. They would follow you to keep an eye on you and ask their boys to keep an eye on you too. It would take them a while to talk to you for real… it's sort of funny how awkward they are.

Mimic: he thinks that your tail is the coolest! He likes taking you down to the darker parts to see it glow… he does wanna know exactly what makes it glow… sometimes he would, honestly, use you as bait to catch fish lol. He won't let you get hurt, promise!

Ringer: He doesn't say, but he loves your tail. He likes how it glows and will honestly trace his fingers over the glowing parts any time that he can. He's not good at hiding his attention and attraction to it… he has a hard time ignoring glowing things.

Pinks: It really depends on if you're in the lake with him, or if he's in the ocean with you. If it's the second, then he's going to stick close to you. You've most likely lived so long even if you glow so you must know how to do some stuff, right? He sees your glow as a beacon of safety.

Chum: It calls you its love light. It glows as well, much brighter than you in almost the same color, which it finds amusing. It will always look for your glow and you two flash the glow back and forth which it finds really fun! That makes it feel less… scary.

Light: He loves your glow! He finds it sad that the only time he can really see it is if you guys go to a darker place, or if it's night time. He makes seeing your glow an excuse to go and see his brother too though which he really hopes you don't mind haha.

Deep: He sees you as a beacon of hope. You're a light in his darkness… even if everything around him is dark, you're always there to light it up. Sometimes he would turn off his own glow just so yours would shine even brighter… he doesn't know what he would do without you.

Cielo: He has a glow to him as well! He thinks that yours is really pretty though and he likes to see the difference. All space merfolk glow though so it isn't really that impressive ^^' I'm sorry.

Comet: Even if your glow is close to his brothers, he still thinks that yours is really pretty! He enjoys tracing his fingers along where the glow forms. He enjoys seeing your reaction, thinks it's cute.

Badar: It will hold you close everywhere you two go together. With how big it is, it feels like it needs to protect you from everything and everyone. As long as you're near it, you're protected. You're save. Nothing will ever happen to you.

Devil: Will show you off lol. Glowing is seen as a real damn impressive thing for his type of merfolk. You know, where he's from. A lot of people most likely wanted to date you, but he was the one that got it! Ha!

Tiger: Will also show you off, but is always courting you. He doesn't care that you two are already together, he's going to be giving you so many gifts, a lot of food, and anything else that he can think of. He loves you, and doesn't want a chance of you getting taken away from him.

Inker: The glow kinda annoys them sometimes… mostly when they're trying to get around and then they look over at you. Their eyes are very used to darkness so it is almost blinding… but other than that, they like it. They find it relaxing when they're not hunting and the faint glow is nice to sleep to…

Angel: Oh yeah, Angel loves it! She thinks that you're just the prettiest thing! She'll tell you this all the time and tries to get you to glow whenever cause she wants to see it. She does wanna know what causes it… then gets bored trying to figure it out and forgets lol.

How do your merfolk feel about scuba divers?

I couldn't do all of them, like Pinks or the ones from space cause well... nobody can scuba dive there lol.

Mimic: He loves watching them! He thinks that it's a lot of fun.

Ringer: He couldn't care less about them. They're just people that don't belong in the water that's coming in for whatever reason. As long as they don't try to bug him, he won't bug them… he does stay out of their sight, though.

Chum: It has never seen one. It knows better than to get too close to people on boats, unless it is supposed to crash the ship, but other than that, it normally stays away. From what its seen, though, and heard about from others, Chum honestly doesn't mind.

Light: He sees them all the time, and he really likes them! He thinks that it's nice that people are swimming around and having fun. He sees people who clean up the trash and stuff, which makes him feel very happy.

Deep: He has never seen one because of how deep he normally is, but the first time he met a human down there swimming around, he couldn't help but stare. He… dislikes it. He dislikes people being this close and will most likely cause something to where they would need to leave. Now if they did something to catch his attention in a good way, that might change.

Slim: Sometimes he really likes to mess with them. He'll mess with their boats, get their attention and cause them to go off track, sometimes he'll even grab someone and pull them down. He might not kill the person, but he does mess with them and he does it just cause he thinks it's fun.

Inker: He hates them. He hates that they're coming into his ocean when they don't belong. They hurt the ocean so much, then they just wanna swim in it? Like they own the place? Sometimes, if he's feeling petty, he'll mess with their tanks. He doesn't really care if he kills someone or not.

Angel: She likes them! She thinks that they're really interesting, and is always watching them from her hiding places. She likes to see what kinda humans come down. They're always so strange, trying to get into places that they don't belong. Sometimes, if they go into caves, she'll follow to light up the way cause of her glow. She never gets seen, though.
