Ben had been camping out at the building for a month or so now. He couldn’t stay at his apartment. A neighbor was getting to nosy. He doesn’t want his old reputation from being with the academy to taint anything. So he’s always gave them his first name but always a false last name. Though it seems he can’t run from it forever. Not like he had anything important there anyways. He was pretty much half way to sleep, something he’s not had in a couple of days, when he heard the tell tale sounds of foot steps and nearly bolted out of his skin. Turns out it was just his brother, Klaus. He sat there awkwardly. “Uh hey, fancy meeting you here.”
It was high time, he figured, that he find somewhere to crash for the night. He didn’t much care where, at this point, just as long as he had a roof over his head. An abandoned building seemed just perfect.
But... Was he quite tired enough to start hallucinating one of his siblings? No, no, he didn’t think so. So that must mean... It must mean that Ben was really there. Sleeping in an abandoned building. That was unexpected, to say the least. Last time he checked - though Klaus had to admit that he wasn’t exactly known for being very reliable in, well, most senses, so his information could be a little outdated - Ben had an apartment. It seemed like a Ben thing to have, too, in his head. Pretty much all of his siblings were better at this whole thing than him. He was the one who’d gone off the rails, he was the failure.
So what exactly was Ben doing there?
Instead of straight out asking him, though, Klaus moved to take a seat across from him, settling down as comfortably as he could.
“Hey, Ben!” His tone easily showed how glad he was to see him again, though his concern as to what might have brought him there was concealed for the time being. “That’s a nice spot you picked here. Warm, not too dusty, and - “ He knocked on the wall. “Yep, seems solid enough. Oh, you wouldn’t happen to have a spare blanket, would you? Because it’s warmer in here than out there, but still... Brrrr.”
