JUST PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT ON A CAR THAT CAN TOW A FLOAT. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IM SO EXCITED
Few years ago I was at a hack show and I saw some people struggling to get their horse on the float. I usually go by the ‘they don’t need another onlooker’ policy, but I was pretty much parked next to them, so I watched surreptitiously as a number of self professed experts paraded in and tried everything from just pulling the horse on the float, to the bum rope(has that EVER worked?!). A couple got the horse half in only to have it just about flip itself over on its way out. This went on for over an hour. The horse was upset, the poor girl was upset. Her parents were at their wits end. Finally, when everyone else had lost interest and given it up as a lost cause, I cautiously offered to have a go. I had no idea if my method would work, and I told them as much, but her horse seemed mighty similar to my Lexi when she was having float problems as a greenie. They were pretty desperate by this stage and let me take the lead. I had her walk on and stand quietly in 15 minutes.
A few days later I found this in my mail box. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and I often think of these guys and I hope they’re doing well!
Got my main man back from boot camp this weekend
I would also like to welcome "Gloria" (the float) to the family, looking forward to lots of adventures with the both of you in the future
holy shit trying to buy a float is the most ridiculously difficult thing ever.
like... people! list! your! information!
people will just straight up post “2hsl horse float” and thats it. whats the tare??? whats the atm??? what year was it made???
or its a float from the fucking 1800′s and they STILL want like $10,000 for it. like dude get real.
literally one person i messaged omg:
Me: Hi, interested. What is the tare and atm? And what year was it made? Seller: 1000 Me: ...? and that was it, they never responded. DO YOU WANT TO SELL YOUR FLOAT OR NOT OMG.
orrrr this one lady when i asked for tare and atm she just said idk. its your float!!! you’re the one trying to sell it!!! how do you not know the basic details of the float!
and companies are no better! they’ll list the models or whatever and not have any pricing so you have to email them for it. or one place i messaged about a float and they wrote back “please find attached info for the 11ft straight load float” and they only attached details for a 12ft angle load float! OH. MY. GOD.
