I actually have a bit of a weird question. I've wondered for a while how Rose and Greg chose Steven's name. Re meaning of his name is literally "that which surrounds or encompasses" or "crown, wealth, honor..." Any theories in general? I've been thinking on it for a while.

Well, the first name meaning makes a lot of sense for Steven considering a majority of his powers are incredibly defensive and protective with his shield, and bubble.

As for the second name meaning, maybe there’s some truth to the old theory that Rose was Gem royalty there.

Hi Emy! It feels like I've been following this comic forever. Just wanted to say what a huge fan I am and ask a question. Do greys working in the ship know each other well and have any kind of friendship with another grey in particular? I got the impression that Shade was a lot more upset than she showed when Pigment was taken away since she lingered and only left when Eebs told her to. (Btw, that part made me wanna cry T_T) Thanks so much!

In TH they're pretty lackluster on the emotions and friendship front but I think they get used to each other.  I imagine if one died right next to them they probably wouldn't think much of it save for the fact that they'd need to replace them at some point and that it would screw up their routines.  I'm sure Shade and Pigment had worked together for a really long time and it kind of hit her that that was the end of their relationship.  Now she has Tone and he's a real barrel of laughs. :D
