Wow. This pic doesn't look like it. But this is a pretty big compost pile. Layers of barn clean out (wasted hay mostly), horse manure, and meat chicken poo from brooder clean outs. There is some ....but very little green stuff. Soaked each later down with water. In just a couple days we should be seeing some real nice temps out of this pile. We will be adding more to this pile in coming days. And will sit here until spring. Never really concerned with PH in organics, but I checked the new beds before adding the rest of the amendments and hit 7 on the dot. Not too shabby ay? . . . First time I used the pen in months but it has its use once and a while. The beds are about 98% done and with the new material I wanted to see where levels were at. The beds include several year old #horsemanure #sandyloam #organicmulch #cowmanure #rockdust #ricehulls #topsoil and some #oats for the #mycorrhizae in the manure & #rootwebstar . . Other amendments to be added tomorrow are #greensand #kelp #guanos #fishbonemeal #neem #fishmeal #shrimpmeal #oystershell #langbeinite #azomite and my own #wormcastings topped of with #composttea
