what if, on a case, haru has to go undercover (alone) and the person he’s playing is a highly confident flirt

daisuke expects haru to fumble around like an idiot because from his experience, that’s way out of his comfort zone. except things don’t go that way

haru is smooth, confidant, and /hot/. places his hand on the shoulder of a woman he’s talking to, leaning in to whisper in her ear, and when he pulls back, she’s blushing heavily and haru shoots her a charming smile. a man pulls haru to dance and haru lets him take the lead, moving across the dance floor w his arms around the man’s neck like they’re lovers.

the entire time daisuke is watching, heusc projecting everything onto the wall in front of him, and he feels his fist tighten at his side

“right…you’ve never seen katou-san undercover.”

daisuke goes to shake his head because he /has/. haru’s whole stint as ‘whiskey’ plays in his thoughts, but hoshino shakes his head, like he knows what daisuke is imagining.

“I meant like this. he’s really good at making other people feel comfortable around him. he’s the worst flirt I’ve ever seen when it comes to real life, but faking it….it’s like he’s someone else.”

daisuke doesn’t say anything, just continues to watch in silence as haru kisses a man’s cheek. their target. he smiles brightly, holding the man’s hand w both of his.

god…daisuke would not consider himself a jealous man, but of course, haru would change that. haru has changed a lot about daisuke.

hoshino sighs. “at least I know I’m not the only one caught in his trap.”

daisuke looks at him, expression neutral but thoughts running a mile a minute. hoshino smiles. “he just has that effect on his partners, I guess.”
