A mood.
Also, for the record, I opened this and moblie crashed.
The Host and The Author are both gothic, but two different kinds.
The Host is somewhere between vampiric and acedemic gothic, with a faint bit of noir. Old world stuck in the new. Skulls, blood, melted wax, massive libraries filled with old books, and radio equipment in some of its earliest forms.
The Author is somewhere along the lines of Midwest Gothic, forest gothic, with dark academia in there too. Well loved books on broken shelves, cabins in the woods with something lurking just out of sight, animal bones with vines growing over them. Broken old fences and homes that hold stories of people who have long since moved on in one way or another. Warning signs for trespassers on broken fenceposts.
I found a very aesthetically pleasing small book of the works of Edgar Allen Poe in my English class and the teacher had this fake skull on the desk so I made an aesthetic thing.
