FINALLY
I wonder if I can control some mech combat games with my HOTAS. I mean both mechs and planes work with a throttle and stick (Depending on universe) and some even have rudders. It could work... fuck now I have to see if I can
when I make a friend that's also into plane games and we want to play one together. But we want something arcade-y that we can just play without reading an actual manual to learn how to actually fly an actual plane. And I have a HOTAS so I want the game to have HOTAS support. so I look through every single multiplayer arcade flight sim game on steam with HOTAS support
"Ace combat 7. Ace combat 7 Is all I can find to play with you."
And god forbid I wanted something coop... Game devs please, this is a super untapped market, it's actually ridiculous. God forbid a girl wants a wing woman without learning DCS (why the FUCK are there so many flight games that refuse to let you use a flight stick!?!?!?? What demographic do you think is gonna buy every flight game?? People who have to justify the HOTAS they bought.)
My Dragon wife got me a HOTAS set up to play mechwarror 5 with and Ive been loving it! Its so satisfying to use!
My copilot has also been enjoying it too. She rubs her head against the throttle encouraging me to complete the mission faster and give her more scretches
it's sure you've gotten this question many times since posting the mech video, but how did you configure your HOSAS to work with the game? it has a pair of those VKB sticks of its own and has been struggling to get them working the way it wants.
I set up dead zones and curves i liked using the vkbsim software for my sticks
I used x360ce to spoof them as an xbox controller and bind them to that how i wanted.
Then i made a steam controller profile to set a huge negative deadzone to cancel out the disgustingly large default deadzone the game has. Having deadzones programmed to the sticks means i can just 0 the deadzones and curves in every game.
I don't think i did anything else but i might have missed something.
"imagine drunk driving this thing"
Why imagine???
This game is actually way better with twin sticks.
Work in progress custom joysticks.
