Cory the Catfish

The other day I realized I was still being billed for eHarmony despite having canceled my account months ago. I logged on to see if I could cancel online, but ended up having to call customer service. While on the site, I noticed I had a message from a very attractive fellow named Cory containing his phone number asking me to contact him. I checked out his profile, he was supposedly a good Christian fellow working in Marketing who had a high compatibility score with me. I still canceled my account but decided to give it one last go and shoot him a text...

I was suspicious of this person from the start. He only had 2 photos... 2 very attractive photos. On the internet, that’s not a good sign. When I asked him to send another photo of himself in our phone text conversation, he responded with a photo of his very unimpressive penis. In conversation, he was very forward and seemingly couldn’t go two minutes without trying to discuss sex or asking for nude photos - which of course he did not get from me. This was very confusing  because the men you find on paid dating sites are usually a bit more serious about finding a genuine partner instead of just nude photos and hookups.  He continued to avoid the subject of photos for days. Then after a 2 hour phone call where we discussed random things from politics to his strong dislike of Oprah, I again inquired about his lack of photos. This time, his response was that the ones on eHarmony belonged to a friend who supposedly gave him permission to use them, and “I’m a good looking guy.” 😒  So, trying to be understanding toward someone who claimed to be new to internet dating, I said why not just send a photo of your real self. He didn’t want to. It wasn’t until the next morning (today) that I convinced him to do so. My suspicions were correct! He was chubby with an average face at best. A far cry from the chiseled features of his “friend.” Of course, as all men do when it’s pointed out to them that they’re not the adonis they believe themselves to be, he resorted to calling me fat. Pot calling the kettle black!  He vehemently denied being a catfish because he got permission to use the photos. Whether or not he stole the images is not the point here. The issue is deception. Had he used his real photos I’d have never given him a second glance much less carry on a conversation with him. I even recall telling him during our chat that if he wasn’t hot there’s no way I’d stand for his hyper-sexualized talk. What a waste of time!  Lies...

i live in MA and didn't realize stop and shop isn't a nationwide thing til now whoops

ive always known bcus i’d go to like ohio and they have kroeger or whatever out there and some people have wawa (which doesnt sound real) and costco but honestly i dont think ive ever heard anyone not from southern new england talk about stop and shop which makes me wonder if there are lone stop and shops throughout the country that only a small group of people know about. Makes You Wonder
