Hey, look at it this way. Worst case scenario: you wind up having a chat with her about what is and isn't acceptable in a relationship and she learns early instead of winding up with an abuser.
Yeah, we actually do talk about relationships and sex and agency and stuff, and I like to think she’s fairly well-informed for her age. And I’m trying so very hard to be calm and open-minded and rational about these things when we talk about them so that she will continue to feel safe bringing her questions to me, you know? But I’m pretty sure there’s a point, somewhere between “Where do babies come from” and “What’s the difference between D/s and S/M?” that you kinda stop wanting to go to your parents for answers. :D
(I’ve been making a list of bookmarks to websites I’ve reviewed and trust to give her decent information for like five years now. It might be time to dust it off, make sure the links are all still working, and give it to her.)

Somehow you will survive it. Here I am thinking of watching Aristocats as a kid then as an adult and marveling at how much went flying over my little kid head.
Oh, gosh, SO MUCH goes over kids’ heads. I do keep reminding myself of that. It’s a little harder to miss the references in fic, tho. :D
