Stray was simply passing through Waterfall, a slight scowl on his face as he wandered through towards the Echo Flower ridden area. He hadn’t actually been in THAT particular area for a while, but it didn’t take him too long to reach the right place.
However, as soon as he got there, he could hear ECHOES from the flowers, instantly recognizing the voice as Hound. Suspicious, especially after a monster had tried to accuse Hound of showing WEAKNESS, Stray decided to listen.
“I didn’t think I’d ever find someone like you.”
Who the HELL was he talking about? Stray stared at the flower for a good long while, trying to confirm if it really WAS Hound’s voice. Eventually completely convinced that it was his brother’s voice, he decided to move on, listening to the others that were nearby.
“… what love feels like.”
What? What did Hound mean? Who was he even TALKING about? He was starting to get more confused by the second, but he had to know if there was anything more after that. Sure enough, there WAS.
“I don’t want to lose sight of that.”
“And despite it being a rocky start…”
“… I still want to spend time with you.”
He needed to know MORE than that. Stray was starting to get more bitter by the moment, since he didn’t know WHO Hound was talking about, but if ANYONE else had heard this, Hound could’ve been dead by now. Glaring slightly, despite being glad that almost nobody passes through that area, he continued to move on to the next set of flowers.
“I’m not sure if forever is possible.”
“Because in my timeline… it’s kill, or be killed.”
Damn right it is and you’re going to be dust if anyone heard this, Stray thought, his glare ever so filled with anger as he then stopped at the LAST set of flowers.
Finding that as the last STRAW, Stray went back on the path, easily slicing down the flowers as he passed so that their echoes were NO MORE. Not only was he going to be TALKING to Hound, but he was definitely going to ask him about what he had heard in Waterfall through the echo flowers.
And so, he returned home, more frustrated than EVER as he seemed to be highly agitated.
