You snap my neck? Don't make me laugh! You may be strong but I'm not scared..
❝ ─ If you’re not SCARED of me, then come on over here. I’ll give you a reason to be scared. ❞
You know I thought you would be more intimidating...
❝ ─ Why don’t you come a little closer then, so I can snap your fragile little neck in HALF? ❞
stray? is the mun on a sugar high again? ((also for mttbrand-001, humanhunterpapyrus, grellandcompany2, and askgasterhandplates))
❝ ─ Surprisingly, no. Even though he had drank a whole bottle of Coca-Cola and ate a bar of chocolate. This... Is disturbing. ❞
Skeletons.. Orange short skeleton has found you
❝ ─ ... Who the fuck are you? ❞
“… really?” Hound stopped at the base of the stairs, staring up towards his room. “… really?” He repeated, unable to believe what he’d just heard. His hand gripped the railing, making the wood audibly crack.
“… can i at least get my things.” It wasn’t really a question… more of a statement, as he wavered and tilted, swaying without realizing it.
Tears were still falling down his face. How Stray had felt… how was he supposed to know, when Stray never fucking told him anything?
Of course, it wasn’t like he was forthcoming, either.
And both of them were far too proud to apologize.
❝ ─ Whatever. Just get out. I... I don’t want you back here until you understand how I ACTUALLY feel. ❞
He couldn’t even look at Hound now, instead just storming into the kitchen, pacing around as he evaluated his own decision to kick Hound out of the house.
There was no way Hound would even survive a DAY without Stray out there, but Stray couldn’t just take back what he had said to the other.
He was too full of PRIDE to do that.
So, instead, he was going to continue pacing in the kitchen, irritated and frustrated, both at himself AND Hound. He wasn’t even HUNGRY - nor was he in the mood to cook anything.
The image of Hound crying, however, did actually torture him inside, and it wasn’t long until he felt a strangely warm liquid fall from HIS face.
Damn it all. He was crying as well.
The Human cried out as she continue to jump around and dodge. It was proving to be not as easy as it seemed, but at least, she’d had practice from the Ruins and Snowdin Forest. Maybe she needed more practice though… Three hits.
18/20
They both had one thing going from them: determination. While he was determined to kill her, she was determined to help him. There had to be some way, right? He had to have some semblance of mercy in him! There just had to be!
[ACT] Talk
“You don’t think I’ve thought of that?” Frisk asked, “That I see it as pointless? I do… But I want to keep going anyway! I want to try to help all of you! Other Humans might be shitty, but you shouldn’t let that poison your heart! I almost made that mistake!”
❝ ─ You won’t EVER help me, nor will you help anyone else in this place! Here, it’s kill or BE killed, and it just so happens that I’m one of the ones on top of the food chain. ❞
It was true, he was completely feared by every other monster in the Underground, except for the small handful that SHOULD have feared him. Frisk was in that category, and he was going to PROVE to her that he was to be feared, that she should be RUNNING at the sight of him.
Preparing another bone attack and attacking almost instantly once more, his next attack being lined up was a rather unusual attack - a Gaster Blaster attack, ready to go as soon as it was his turn again.
He was defnitely not showing ANY mercy to the human.
Stray was going to WIN, his DETERMINATION flowing through him.
“S-sorry? Heh. That’s a riot. The Great and Terrible Papyrus… actually s-sorry for something.” Hound choked back another sob and wiped his sleeve across his face, tears staining his jacket.
“N-no. I-if ya want ta make it u-up ta me… fuckin’ l-leave Fresh alone.” He rose, wobbling to the stairs, knowing he’d just given Stray what he wanted – but finding that he didn’t care at all.
He was done with this conversation.
He was done with everything.
“Just… leave me alone too, while yer at it. After all… that’s what ya wanted, right? If y-ya just want me gone, j-just say so.” He glanced back for a moment, just a brief glance – before he started to walk up the stairs in his slothlike manner.
“… heh. Of course… ya never needed ta really say anything. I already know how ya feel…”
Hound did NOT just say that.
It wasn’t that he just told him to leave FRESH alone, no...
It was that he had basically told the other that he thought that he knew how he had felt.
Growl emitting from the tall skeleton, he didn’t even SHOUT like he usually would, instead glancing down in a more frustrated, yet oddly calm way. His hands were balled up into fists, fingers digging into the bone of his hand, glad that he even had gloves on.
❝ ─ Get out. ❞
A moment of silence filled the air, before Stray then pointed to the door, glancing up at Hound once more.
His emotions were awfully unclear, as if he himself didn’t know WHAT to feel.
❝ ─ Get out of the house, and don’t bother coming back. Is that understood? You need to stay the HELL out of this house, and I swear to Asgore if you take even ONE step back into here, I will dust you myself. ❞
The threat was deadly SERIOUS, but even so, his voice was wavering, only by the slightest.
He didn’t WANT to do this, but after what Hound had said?
Stray couldn’t help it. He wanted Hound out.
❝ ─ ... Unless you can FINALLY understand how the fuck I feel, don’t ever bother coming back to me. ❞
Hound went limp.
He shut down, eyes fully closing before he just… sunk to the floor, out of Stray’s grip and curling into a ball.
He wanted nothing more than to be in his lover’s embrace right now, but Hound had sent him away, on the assurance that he could deal with his own brother.
It was funny, thinking that he could deal with Stray. No one was more cruel than his brother.
A soft sob escaped from his throat as he shook, familiar whimpers escaping from Hound’s throat – much like they had when he was a mere pup.
The memories were plaguing him again – his face looked absolutely terrified.
Years of assuring himself that he was better than what Gaster made him, that he was worth something – it was all torn apart in a mere few minutes by his own brother.
It wasn’t very long before his face was covered in tears and sweat.
Well shit.
Now he REALLY fucked up. Go figure.
Stray always knew that he could be selfish and cruel, but he knew that he’d NEVER realize it until it was too late. This time being, of course, pushing it way too far by calling Hound by Sans.
He should’ve known better - no, he DID know better - and still, he had pushed the other into this poor state of tears... And sweat, of course.
Hesitation clear on his face, Stray slowly knelt down to look at Hound for a moment. What could he even SAY? There was no way that his own brother would forgive him so easily for even MUTTERING that name once, no less the amount of times he did.
The anger diminishing along with his need for knowing who his supposed lover was, Stray was now more focused on at least TRYING to help Hound...
... But there was NOTHING he could say to make it any better. At this point, Hound must have been convinced that Stray was just going to continue calling him Sans.
❝ ─ Hound, I... I’m sorry, Hound, I didn’t mean... Hound, I just... ❞
He went ahead to hug the other, but was quick to STOP himself. No, Hound would NOT be okay with that. Not after what he had done.
Stray knew the meaning of the name Sans. He knew that it was a name Hound dreaded. He KNEW that he shouldn’t have gone as far as he did.
And yet, he still did.
❝ ─ ... I’m sorry... ❞
What ELSE could he say?
Once the name was used again, it took everything Hound had to keep from breaking down right then and there.
“B-brother… please.” Hound was begging now, an eye closing as he turned his head away.
He wouldn’t even look at Stray anymore.
“Please… d-don’t call me that…”
He was so close to breaking.
❝ ─ Then tell me what I want to know. Who was it? Who were you talking about, Sans? ❞
He didn’t really WANT for Hound to break down crying, but when push comes to SHOVE, Stray was willing to try anything to get the information he wanted. He needed to know, and he needed to know NOW.
His anger was also blinding his choices, but not by that much - even if he wasn’t so PISSED off, he would possibly still use it against Hound to find out what he wanted to know.
❝ ─ One last chance. Or I’ll just have to keep calling you Sans. ❞
Nobody at THIS point should have a doubt that he really WAS cruel.
Shit.
He’d used the name.
Stray had used his real name.
Grimacing, Hound actually averted his eyes, claws relaxing as they just hung off of Stray’s arm.
“… you know, I hate that name.” Hound breathed, eyes troubled. Gaster was the one who’d given them their names, but after what Gaster had done… it was no wonder why either of them chose different.
He’d never actually admitted as much to Stray, always acting like the name never really meant anything.
It reminded him of his darkest times – and Hound didn’t want to remember.
“Don’t call me by that name. The name is Hound. Take care to heed that, brother. I don’t like being called nothing.” Hound was shaking now, teeth gritted together.
❝ ─ ... Then tell me what I want to know, dear brother of mine. Who is it that you spoke of in Waterfall? You either TELL me, or I’ll keep calling you by that name. ❞
He knew he had struck a NERVE in Hound, calling him by that name. He could tell simply by the other’s body language, and he knew it wasn’t any good.
Although, it was similar to why he preferred Stray over Papyrus. However, he was going to USE it against Hound.
❝ ─ Do you understand, Sans? ❞
Unlike Hound, Stray wasn’t AS bothered when he’s referred to as Papyrus. There was little meaning to the name, and the only reason he didn’t like it is because Gaster was the one to give him the name.
Either way, it didn’t matter. Stray was using that against Hound to get the information he wanted, no matter WHAT.
“B-boss, I… I can’t breathe.” Clawing at Stray’s arm, Hound grimaced and tried to arch away from the wall, his own eyes white and colorless.
They’d never been without their red glow.
“P-please, boss. Calm down, just…” Hound huffed and tried to shove against his brother, but due to his current lack of magic, all he was able to do was weakly paw at Stray’s arm.
Of course, Hound had always been a bad liar, so he didn’t even try to deny the conversation.
He just kept his mouth shut, eyes staring.
Staring at the other for a moment, Stray hesitated before eventually moving his arm back a little, just so Hound could actually BREATHE, but not so he could escape.
He had INSTANTLY noticed that the other was so weak, even to the point that his eyes didn’t have the red glow that it usually did. Quickly figuring out that SOMETHING must have happened just the previous night, Stray scowled at the smaller skeleton.
❝ ─ You’ve got little to NO magic. Something happened last night, am I correct to assume so? ... You’ve got explaining to do, Sans. ❞
He rarely EVER called Hound by Sans.
Stray was being deadly serious about this, and he was just staring at the other, WAITING for the answers he wanted.
Hound stared, then lifted his container of mustard up to stare at it, instead.
“…I’m not nearly drunk enough for this conversation, boss.” Tilting the container up, he sighed and began to chug the rest of the bottle.
It probably wasn’t a good idea, but Hound had never been good at social interactions.
It only took a matter of seconds, but Hound turned and chucked the empty container into the nearby trash can, head tilting as he leaned on the doorway. “Can ya… at least chill out a little? And, like, not wreck the nice furniture we actually have?”
Shit. He already knew this wasn’t going to go well, with how Stray’s body posture was.
At least Fresh wasn’t here to witness…
Did Hound REALLY think that Stray would let him avoid the entire conversation about this? Oh hell no, Stray was going to get answers, and he was going to get them now. Who knew that he could be so stubborn - and INCREDIBLY short tempered - at the same time?
Charging forth, Stray was quick to grab the smaller skeleton by the collar of his jacket, SLAMMING him into a wall and holding him there with his arm across the other’s neck. His glare was almost full of anger, his eyes slightly lighting up with a dim red flame.
DEFINITELY pissed off, that was for sure.
Also, he didn’t seem to give a fuck about the furniture at the moment. Or the house in general, for that matter.
❝ ─ Don’t avoid the conversation. Who the fuck were you talking about? Why the FUCK would you say it out loud when someone could hear it through the echo flowers? Don’t you realize that you could’ve died if ANYONE else heard that?! ❞
Pressure slowly being applied to the other’s throat, Stray didn’t really notice it due to his anger, but he wasn’t showing ANY sign of moving his arm from Hound’s throat.
Hound had heard Stray from well outside of the house, and he could only imagine what the state of the inside had looked like.
He’d given Fresh a goodbye kiss, sighing as he walked in, hands shoved in his pockets.
“’ey, boss.” He hunched, taking out the mustard bottle from his pocket and chewing on the top of it as he sucked.
It was a terrible habit.
“Yer in. Uh. Quite th’mood.” Hound didn’t want to deal with this right now, but knowing Stray, it would stew for days if he at least didn’t let off some steam his way.
Glancing over to Hound, Stray growled at him for a moment before pacing slowly. If there was ONE thing he was feeling, it was anything BUT compassion or care. His mood was definitely pure anger and frustration, and he wasn’t afraid to outright show it.
❝ ─ Hound. Were you at Waterfall recently? More specifically, near the echo flowers? ❞
A brief pause filled the room before Stray stopped his slow pacing, glancing over to Hound and GLARING at him, his hands behind his back in an attempt to control his own rage.
Although, it was WAY too obvious.
❝ ─ Because if I’m correct that it was you, I overheard a little... Conversation. It was clearly your voice... And you were talking to yourself, about someone. Someone you love. Can you explain to me what the FUCK is that about? ❞
Well, of course, she arrived in one piece. Her determination made sure of that. Else, she would have died long ago in the Ruins. She couldn’t exactly explain that to him. Who would believe that she had the power to resurrect herself while bringing time back with her? Hell, she still didn’t believe it herself.
Regardless, she moved her soul out of the way of the bones, taking care to attempt to stop moving when the red bones got too close. She got hit by his attack twice bring her HP down. Thank God, she’d had stayed at the Inn before the fight.
24/20
Worry crossed her face as she glanced at the options before her. Flowey’s words repeated in her mind as her hazel eye briefly looked at the Fight button.
‘No… If I have to, I’ll resort to trying to lower his HP, but I’m not going to kill him…’ she told herself.
Her hand went over the Act button and the choices were displayed before her: Check, Flirt?, Talk, and Taunt. She shook her head at the Taunt option. She never understood why negative actions were included in this menu.
[ACT] Check
She had to figure out exactly what she was up against.
STRAY - 66 ATK 6 DEF Most brutal member of the Royal Guard. Will kill any human on sight.
Stray’s glare focused on the female, he then prepared his next attack accordingly, which was ANOTHER round of bone attacks that he then aimed at the human in an organized way. His determination to kill Frisk was evident, and he wasn’t going to halt his battle for ANY reason at all.
He knew that he might not be able to actually beat the human so easily like he had originally planned (he never really realized that she was as agile as she was), but he wasn’t going to STOP until he did kill at least one human. Of course, that human HAD to be Frisk since she was most likely going to die anyway, and she was going to be the last human soul required to break the barrier and achieve freedom.
And so, he wasn’t going to stop at ANYTHING, to make sure that he could secure his place as the most feared and respected in the Royal Guard and throughout the Underground, and to earn the loyalty of the Guards so he could become the captain instead. After all, he had always thought that Undyne was so POORLY suited for the job, regardless.
❝ ─ Why don’t you just give up straight away, human? Don’t you see that in the end, it’s going to be pointless anyway? ❞
She was terrified; that much was for sure.
She’s nearly died several times since leaving the Ruins because of Stray’s puzzles. Frisk should have been use to almost dying and well… Actually dying by now, but it was still a horrifying experience. The Monsters in the Underground had absolutely no mercy. It took all her effort and determination to convince them to spare her. Toriel had been the most difficult to spare so far, but she knew it would only get harder from here.
For the moment, she sat in one of the rooms at the Snowed Inn. She was currently discussing the battle to come with Flowey. However, neither of them were making dents in the other’s stance of how to approach the battle.
“Frisk, I’m telling you he’s one of the worst members on the Guard.” the flower insisted, annoyance in his tone as he clung to her shoulder, “There’s no sparing him.”
“I’ve gotten this far without killing anyone. I’m sure I can figure out a way to spare him.” she retorted, rolling her eyes.
“And do you have any idea on how to do that?”
The Human fell silent, confirming Flowey’s suspicion.
“You need to kill him.”
“How about this? You stay here and I’ll go fight him by myself.” Frisk suggested, already getting up and leaving the room. She knew he couldn’t exactly leave with her help, so he didn’t even need to answer.
The snow crunched under the young girl’s feet as she left the town, heading towards where she figured Stray would be waiting. Sure enough, he was right there in front of her. She clutched her fists and took a breath.
“Stay determined…” she whispered to herself, taking the last few steps.
Hearing the footsteps from what he assumed to be the human, he waited until he could properly see the other through the mist. She SEEMED to be a little nervous, but at this point in time, he didn’t have a single CARE for the other. He had one goal, and he was going to achieve it one way or another.
Eyeing the girl for a few moments, Stray then scoffed before straightening his posture. After all, how the HELL did she manage to get through his puzzles?
❝ ─ Human. I see you’ve arrived, and apparently in one piece as well. I would’ve assumed that you would’ve at least have gotten severely hurt... And yet, here you are, ready to take me on. Did you really think that after all this time, you’ve made some sort of difference? That maybe you’d be able to change us and teach us that MERCY is better? Then you must be as stupid as the ones who don’t fear me... Hmph. Determination won’t get you past this point, human. For I, Stray, will kill you... And take your soul for my own! ❞
Initiating the battle, Stray left NO time for the human to attack or even defend or spare, moving straight on to his attack which he had oh-so-viciously unleashed upon the other. An array of bones, white and red alike, showered down on the young girl, a GLINT in Stray’s eye that clearly meant that he was being deadly serious.
He was going to get the soul, free ALL of the monsters, and not only be feared but respected by ANY and all monsters and humans alike.
His own DETERMINATION was stirring within him.
Stray was simply passing through Waterfall, a slight scowl on his face as he wandered through towards the Echo Flower ridden area. He hadn’t actually been in THAT particular area for a while, but it didn’t take him too long to reach the right place.
However, as soon as he got there, he could hear ECHOES from the flowers, instantly recognizing the voice as Hound. Suspicious, especially after a monster had tried to accuse Hound of showing WEAKNESS, Stray decided to listen.
“I didn’t think I’d ever find someone like you.”
Who the HELL was he talking about? Stray stared at the flower for a good long while, trying to confirm if it really WAS Hound’s voice. Eventually completely convinced that it was his brother’s voice, he decided to move on, listening to the others that were nearby.
“Now I know…”
“… what love feels like.”
What? What did Hound mean? Who was he even TALKING about? He was starting to get more confused by the second, but he had to know if there was anything more after that. Sure enough, there WAS.
“I don’t want to lose sight of that.”
“And despite it being a rocky start…”
“… I still want to spend time with you.”
He needed to know MORE than that. Stray was starting to get more bitter by the moment, since he didn’t know WHO Hound was talking about, but if ANYONE else had heard this, Hound could’ve been dead by now. Glaring slightly, despite being glad that almost nobody passes through that area, he continued to move on to the next set of flowers.
“I’m not sure if forever is possible.”
“Because in my timeline… it’s kill, or be killed.”
Damn right it is and you’re going to be dust if anyone heard this, Stray thought, his glare ever so filled with anger as he then stopped at the LAST set of flowers.
“But you…”
“… you, I love.”
Finding that as the last STRAW, Stray went back on the path, easily slicing down the flowers as he passed so that their echoes were NO MORE. Not only was he going to be TALKING to Hound, but he was definitely going to ask him about what he had heard in Waterfall through the echo flowers.
And so, he returned home, more frustrated than EVER as he seemed to be highly agitated.
Stray was FURIOUS.
@houndsteeths
It was quiet, but in a way, Stray was THANKFUL for it. Or at least, for now he was. Eventually, the quiet would disturb him, but he had to just wait and see what would happen next.
Waiting outside Snowdin wasn’t exactly the thing he had in mind. For one, it was cold, and for two, waiting was NOT his forte. He didn’t have the patience to be waiting out in the snow, waiting to see if the human would try to go past where he stood.
Honestly, he wasn’t sure if it was for his good or for the human’s OWN good. He definitely didn’t LIKE humans, but something about this one that he had seen...
No. He NEEDED the human’s soul. He needed to prove himself WORTHY. Taking a human soul - the last one required as well - would be that last little push to prove that he should TRULY be feared, even if he was already feared the way things were. That HE took down a human himself, taken their soul, and provided the escape for all monster-kind.
❝ ─ Where the hell could that damned human be... ❞
His patience was starting to wear thin, and it could be EASILY identified through his constant tapping of his foot and his glancing around.
Oh, how he HATED waiting.
@musiquedenfer.
