“I’m here, in the compound, because it’s Obon. But that’s why I’m here at your side, yes.” He pauses. “My name is Ashura.”
Or: Obon is a very good time to die; your family is there to show you the way.

Itama blinks his eyes open, slow and lethargic. Golden-warm light filters through the canopy above him, long shadows dappling over his body, leaves warmly backlit. It must be nearly sunset.
The last Itama remembers is – is –
He sits up in a rush. There are bodies strewn before him, dressed in dark Uchiha mantles that don’t quite hide the bloodstains. The bodies are still; he can’t see them breathing.
Itama stands up. He doesn’t want to stay here with these fresh corpses. Obon is soon – another glance at the sky tells Itama that Obon might be now – and he doesn’t know if the Uchiha will linger.
