This morning Isis was being a whiny face (as is her way), so I put her outside in the front yard (fenced in). She’s quiet and happy as a clam since both the dogs love just hanging out on the front stoop. She’s been outside for about 10mins when housemate #1 gets up and after annoyingly baby talking & petting his own dog, he enters the bathroom. A few seconds later Isis barks... twice. Two barks. Sounded like it was probably at a squirrel (why dogs think barking at squirrels will aid in their capture is beyond me, silly mutts). In my head I think, “Just leave it alone.” But, no, he can’t. HM1 comes out of the bathroom to investigate why MY dog barked outside and let her in. She wasn’t being asked to be let in, she was barking at a squirrel. That. Is. What. Dogs. Do.
I swear to jeebus he micromanages the dogs. Even if his dog barks once, he’s getting up to investigate. Just let them alone. They’re just being dogs. Now, if they’re barking incessantly, that’s a different story. Usually that means there’s a delivery person that needs to be “saved” (neither of the dogs are going to attack or bite them, the pups are just excited for a new person).
I just really can’t stand this guy. I wish I’d gotten this vibe when I came to look at the house the first time. Instead I have five more months of hell.
If only, ‘just don’t let it bother you’ was something I could make myself feel.
