I let the date pass me by, but a couple weeks ago it was 10 years since I finished my good old sherlolly fic I Told You So. I was thinking back fondly tonight about the experience of posting updates. Between ffnet, here on tumblr, and ao3 I ended up with hundreds of comments and feedback and tags in posts. So many that I couldn’t keep up with them all at the time. It was easily the best fandom fun I’ve ever had.

It’s bittersweet though, because I’m pretty sure I’m not likely to experience that kind of thing again. It was the perfect storm of a booming fandom, a good fic idea, and a lot more time spent writing than I do now. I also just don’t think the fandom dynamic is the same as it used to be, which I’ve seen many people express in posts lately.

But all that said, while it’s kinda sad I’ll likely never experience that again, I love that I got to experience it for a while. I know not everyone gets to. You guys gave me that and it was such a fun gift. And how cool that it’s a gift I can go back and open time and time again thanks to the comments and posts that still exist. So happy 10 years to ITYS, and sending hugs to anyone who contributed to the fun of it! ❤️
