how a howard family dinner would go down

-suze is estactic to find out lexi finally has a bf and she demands she bring him over for dinner

-suze recognizes this as a special opportunity to get her family together because lexi and cassie are not on speaking terms

-suze figures since they both have bfs, she can ask the girls to bring over their men at the same time (without the other knowing), and force everyone to meet each other 

-montage of both sets of couples getting ready. lexi putting a tie on fez and him going, “why tf are you more nervous than me” and she explains how she’s worried about her mom being weird. cassie and nate are probs arguing or some shit idk. 

-lexi and fez arrive first. suze immediately greets him with a hug and suze goes, “OH MY GOD YOU’RE MORE HANDSOME THAN NATHANIEL (don’t tell i said that tho!)” 

-suze screaming to fez about he’s lexi’s first bf and lexi being all, “mom pls stop mom pls stop” 

-a knock on the door and suze jumps up, “i wonder WHO that could be??!” she opens the door to nate and cassie and she gets so happy while they all just stare at each other

-suze has the boys introduce them to one another and nate probably flinches when fez goes for the handshake LMAOO

-they’re all sat down at the table and suze explains how nice it is to see everyone together for once

-suze starts asking fez more about his life. lexi like vaguely told him that he’s been in trouble with the law before but suze is pretty open minded so she still wanted to meet him. lexi n fez rehearsed his watered down life story together so it’s got truths but is also very played down 

-nate probs being a douche and asking fez if he went to school and shit and asking if he has family (lexi holding his hand underneath the table to calm him down)

-awkward silences with intense staring from everyone 

-(probs started by something suze says), but i think something would trigger lexi and cassie to have a screaming match and they throw wine at each other or some shit

-suze having to chase after lexi and cassie because they’re fighting and throwing shit at each other

-fez and nate being left alone at the table, staring. nate says, “how was prison?” fez says, “how was the hospital?”

-suze collects the girls who are both a mess. the girls both grab their men by the arms and demand to leave

-suze sitting alone after they’ve left, staring at the mess while holding a glass of wine and saying, “well that went well”

-silent car drives back home for both couples

i mean... was cassie lying? when she said that lexie was a bystander?she had a point and lexie knows that; of course she does; its the point of the whole production: she is reimagining her life. cassie was just using what they BOTH know, to hurt lexi becuase cassie herself was hurt.

and the same way i think it was lexies right to put on that play about how shes always been in the sidelines and how that feels, cassie had the right to be angry about her own life being dramatized like it was. i get both sides, i guess.
