I'm not a writer, so this is nothing professional. So this are my Hogwarts Jatp headcanons:

- Alex and Nick are in Hufflepuff

- Reggie, Julie and Flynn are in Gryffindor

- I'm not sure if Luke would be in Hufflepuff or Slytherin, but I'm gonna go with Hufflepuff

- Carrie is in Slytherin

- Willie joins the school in the 4th year (he's in Gryffindor)

- Caleb is obviously Voldemort but with more fashion sense and a nose

- Reggie, Luke und Alex know eachother, because they went to the same elementary school before Hogwarts

- Reggie got really sad when the sorting hat didn't put him in the same house as Alex and Luke

- But he became quickly friends with Julie and Flynn who have known eachother since kindergarten

-Alex and Luke were happy that at least they got in the same house and could explore the Hogwarts grounds together (Luke:"That's insane Alex, we can practise here without getting any punishment!" But they got punished when they started playing at 2 a.m. in the Great Hall)

-Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors have many classes together, so Reggie (and some time later also Julie and Flynn) spend a lot of time with Alex and Luke

-Before starting to talk about the founding of "Julie and the Phantoms", I would like to talk about some facts involving everyone:

> Alex is really great in herbology and is such a plant dad, it's insane ( the last statement comes from Willie, but we will talk about THAT later)

> Luke (and sometimes Reggie) is having a permanent prank war with Julie and Flynn who win nearly everytime

> Reggie is fantastic when it comes to Charms or Transfiguration (he is the first one who can use the Patronus Charm properly)

> Julie and Luke are really good at DADA and are really competitive

> They friend group befriends Willie in the second period of 4th year. Alex was the first one to be his friend after Willie smashed into him during Gryffindor's Quidditch practise (Luke and Reggie wanted him to go watch it with them)

>If Willie is in fact a really talented Quidditch player and didn't smash into Alex by accident, then you will never know

>Carrie, Julie and Flynn were friends, but as soon as they got seperated, Carrie has stopped talking to them and has built a new friend group (Dirty Candy)

So that's the first post, but there will be more headcanons (I need to talk about Willex, Juke and Flarrie or Dirty Candy vs. Julie and the Phantoms)

@agewornbetter Because a conversation got it stuck in my head. 

He had a reputation before he even stepped foot here. He wondered sometimes if they just wanted him to attend here to keep an eye on him. He knew the way he used magic had to go against so much of their rules. Which if anyone asked him was a load of bollocks anyway. But they weren’t going to ask some smart assed kid were they. He figured they just wanted to watch whatever dumb choices he was going to be making. He had no doubt that at some point he was going to making some pretty stupid decisions when it came to magic. So, he guessed this was the best place to have them. John didn’t care about a lot of things if he was being honest about going to school here. It was an excuse to get away from his father, so he jumped at the chance. His sister had some excuse for why he was gone. Though he didn’t think his father even gave a shit he wasn’t there.

Walking into the school John knew that a lot of people had probably been shocked when he had been put into Ravenclaw. He knew the fucking hat had been debating. It was either them or Slytherin. The whole lot were annoying. But he didn’t mind his house too much. They really lived up to their idea of being the smart ones. They didn’t reign in his studying, or his constant curiosity. The teachers encouraged it though pushed him away from certain topics. Ones he still found things to investigate with regardless. He was sure someone would have an issue with a few topics of reading he had taken on. If they worked, why would they be banned? John knew that they liked to talk about a reoccurring problem. He didn’t understand, they had the things at their disposal. Why not use them? Some idiotic idea of being morally superior? They were wizards and witches or whatever the fuck they wanted to call themselves. Didn’t they already ruin some of the rules of the universe?

He knew some people liked to think they were above some of the others because their families did magic. John liked to point himself out as an example of the idea that anyone with a bit of will and time could do it. He had a much more colorful way of putting it that he knew could rile some of them up.

Grinning as he walked into the school already looking like he was there to do nothing more than to make some people’s time here for the new semester a nightmare. He could do that on purpose and sometimes on accident. They just came in, so of course they had their usual fest, celebration and watching the new kids get sorted out. John tended to ignore that part. He had a book he had found that he was finishing up. Probably be done with before they were done. Finding himself a spot with a couple of the students he hung out with and could be called friends. Chas was not much when it came to actually using magic. He remembered a lot of things people tended to underestimate, and a lot of luck which was how he was still here. Plus of course was Zee.

He didn’t have too many friends. He did attract a lot of people, but they rarely stayed around him for long. Just these two. Scanning the room John’s eyes found another familiar face. One he found great pleasure in annoying. He knew just being here probably annoyed him. What was it his family liked to refer to people like him as? Mudblood? He wore the name like a fucking badge. Giving the blonde a smirk and a wave. New semester had to greet him, right? The wave of course quickly turned into a rude gesture. “’Ello mate. How’s t’e family?” The whole lot seemed like a total fucking nightmare so of course he was going to poke fun at that.

Derek had a lot to consider going into his fifth year of Hogwarts. His parents were pressuring him to make good grades and to preform well on his O.W.L.'s. They were a family that worked in the Ministry after all. But he was more concerned with Quidditch. And his grades showed. Well, Transfiguration did anyway. So, he was going to get a tutor. That was okay. He just wasn't expecting it to be one Stiles Stilinski.

Or, the Harry Potter AU that popped into my head that refused to leave. It's random and messy and weird. And that's okay.

Cologne

This is super short and super cliche but I really needed to write something to help break my writer's block. Thank you to @mewdle for sending me the prompt!

Disclaimer: Nico's a Gryffindor in this fic, which I'm not 100% sure about, but I mainly did it just so that I could work in some platonic Jasico. I was originally planning to explain how Nico was the first Gryffindor in his family and his insecurities about it and stuff, but I couldn't find a comfortable way to work it in. I rewrote this four times so hopefully it turned out okay. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Summary: Based on the prompt: Nico gets to potions class late without realizing that today's the day the class is making Amortentia.

Nico’s feet hit the stone floor hard and fast as he rushed down the empty hall, frowning at how loudly his footsteps echoed. Out of all the classes he could have been late to, potions wouldn’t have been his first choice.

He paused outside the door to catch his breath, before carefully pushing open the door. Any hopes he’d had of silently sneaking into class were crushed as the heavy wooden door creaked loudly. He grimaced as everyone in the class swiveled back to look at him. Most of the kids looked bored with him and turned right back to their work as Nico rushed over to Jason, his desk partner.

“Well you lucked out,” Jason commented to him. “Professor Asclepius had to step out to yell at some first years that were shooting some sort of toy down the hall.”

Nico let out a breath of relief. “Do you think he’ll notice that I was gone?”

Jason shrugged. “I guess you’ll have to wait and see.”

Nico grumbled to himself, pulling his books out of his bag. He had been dreading this class all week. Not only was it potions, his worst subject, but it was with Hufflepuff. And more importantly, Will Solace.

Nico peeked out from behind his mop of hair to glance at Will, only to find Will staring back at him. Nico scowled, embarrassed at having been caught. “What’re you looking at?”

The corners of Will’s mouth quirked up. “Nothing. I just like seeing you show emotion other than your constant distaste with the world. Embarrassment and nerves look quite good on you.”

Nico’s face flushed further at the almost-compliment from Will. “Oh, shut up. At least I don’t bathe myself in cologne every morning in a desperate attempt to get girls.”

Will snorted. “I didn’t realize you had a problem with my cologne, di Angelo.”

“I do when the whole goddamn room reeks of it. For Merlin’s sake, did you spill a bottle of it in here or something?” Nico’s senses were being overwhelmed with the scent of Will and it was driving him insane.

Jason choked behind Nico as Will opened his mouth to retort before freezing as his cheeks colored.

“What?” Nico asked, confused as to why he was getting such strange responses from his friends.

“Nico,” Jason said in an almost consoling tone as he pushed his textbook in Nico’s direction, showing him the page for the potion the class was currently working on.

Nico frowned, glancing down to see what the big deal was.

Amortentia. The most powerful love potion in the world.

“So what?” Nico asked, feeling his stomach sink.

Jason pointed to a passage lower down the page.

It has a different aroma for everyone who smells it, reminding each person of the things that they find most attractive.

Oh.

Oh no.

Nico forced a laugh. “Oh that’s rich. Wow. But I’m afraid that won’t excuse your excessive cologne usage, Solace.” It was a ruse, and a terrible one at that. Nico knew already, the damage had been done.

“Ah, di Angelo. You decided to join us after all,” came the Potions teacher from behind him.

Nico felt as if the oxygen in the room was running out. He was surrounded by his best friend who was laughing at him, his crush who was as red as a tomato and still had his mouth hanging wide open, an angry teacher who he was very much in trouble with, and the smell of WillWillWillWillWill.

Nico bolted right out of the room, leaving his bag next to Jason who was also having trouble breathing due to how hard he was laughing.
