🔎 for any antagonist or villain oc!
alright so I wanna keep talking about Unchosen for a bit, so let’s talk about Venathe Hestarian because i haven’t talked about her enough (and again it’s super tempting to talk about Rhys but—also—VENATHE)
Venathe is probably about 5′9, so a bit taller than Maris and Cadeyrn; much like the aura of command that surrounds Estel, if you’re doing something around Venathe, you’ll find yourself desperately seeking her approval for it. She’s used to fielding her small army, and it shows in the way that she carries herself, shoulders back and chin tilted up. She looks down her nose at everyone and everything, even her most trusted co-conspirators.
She stands at a loose attention with her arms crossed behind her back, and while she doesn’t fidget in a way that would make her look nervous, she can often be caught turning her chin in a figure-eight to keep her neck and shoulders relaxed, or rolling her shoulders back to unwind the tense muscles in her back. There’s a keen intelligence in her washed-out gray eyes – a gray that shouldn’t exist, not tinged with blue but with no color at all, like they were entirely black and injected with colorless light.
She has vibrant copper hair that sweeps back from a prominent widow’s peak, worn long – the only vestige of vanity she allows herself to keep, in honor of the fey lord Hestarian who gave his name to her small nation, who is always depicted with the same long hair. She usually wears it twisted into eight elaborate braids that signify her as the eighth leader of Hestarian’s Fall.
While many fey live longer than humans, the fey of Hestarian’s Fall are notoriously preyed upon by the wilderness in which they live. Venathe was lucky – or unlucky – enough to serve the last fey lord as their right hand before their untimely demise, and so she ascended to their position as the second-youngest yet far-from-weakest lord that has ever led the Fall. She’s rounding the corner on fifty but doesn’t look a day over thirty; a distant cousin of the Glen’s Queen Tarian, she has the same sharp profile as the Glynnau, and her pointed ears mark her as a target within the borders of Journsea.
She dresses plainly, in drab colors, and hides her hair under hoods and veils when she wants to go unnoticed through the streets; she has traveled much farther than most might think, with an inky black scar slashed into her collarbone for each country she has visited and that she plans on visiting again once her army has taken Journsea.
In short, I’m absolutely in love with her
