HOW TO MAKE BEATS? The answer can be simple or quite complex

i once heard the process of creating a track compared to cooking

and basically it is , those same principles apply .

First you the need the meat

what do i mean by meat your sample or lead instrument

some producers build around the drums and some off the sample 

hip hop music in the early stages was sample based  you can make beats online free using a demo version of fl studio or apples garage band  to follow along.

next i usually establish some kind of tempo based on whatt type of beat it is down south or trap music is usually somewhere around the 130-150bpm range east coast hip hop around 78-98 

i usually go with the high hats to set a bounce or rhythm to the track

additional sounds like string section brass horn 808 drums are all things that help making a beat . In you early stages you might have a hard time knowing when a beat is finished just as you may not no when its missing something the thing to being a good producer is practice and training your ear try to listen to your favorite producers and tryto figure out what sound came first or if you made it where would you have started and try to gain a mental picture.
