All we know is during this year something/Someone Happened to James that changed him

James went from immature Marauder to Head Boy Material that year

That's a big change.

You know who also went through a BIG change?

Regulus Black. Went from pure blood supremacist to sacrificing himself to help take down Voldemort.

Sounds like someone had some good... Influence?

June/July 1977: Sirius gets kicked out of the house. James obviously takes Sirius's side. Bros before hoes. Ends things with Reggie.

Regulus is driven to the Death Eaters. But then realizes-

James was right. These people are crazy. Dark. Evil.

But it's too late. It's Summer of 1979. James is a changed man. He is married to Lily Evans. Still best friends with Regulus's estranged brother.

What does Reggie do?

Sacrifice himself in hope that his lover can one day live happy with his family.

And who's gonna tell me it didn't happen?

What evidence is against it?

Harry didn't mention it in canon?

Uh Harry is OBLIVIOUS. He's the definition of an unreliable narrarator.

And how would he have known? Harry never met Regulus. James never told Harry ANYTHING he remembered.

Sirius? Remus?

Too busy hiding their own gayness as far as I'm concerned.

AND JUST THINK HOW FRUSTRATED IT MUST MAKE JKR TO KNOW THAT THE BIGGEST FAN THEORY RN IS DESTROYING HER PERFECT, UNTOUCHABLE STRAIGHT COUPLE.

For my tomione story, ‘The Otherside,’ I’m stuck on who to pair Hermione with! I was strongly leaning toward Bill Weasley...but I...struggled *so* much with writing his character. 

Any suggestions for who else to pair her with?? (Snape and Lucius won’t work for this fic) 

Maybe Dolohov, Rowle, or someone else? I’m open to ideas! 💞
