I better not hear of any shitstains harassing the kids in the HP reboot I don't care about your feelings about JKR or your hatred of reboots leave those kids alone
I think the most annoying thing about Snape’s race swap is that so much of canon’s original message and meaning will be lost to future generations.
Most people are incapable of or too lazy to do their own research, especially the 18 and under crowd.
People tend to blindly consume media, react, and move on with their day.
Critical thinking is dead, verification is non-existent now, and checking out the original source?
Forget it.
10 years from now, some genius is going to have the audacity to say: “Snape was bullied because he was *literally* black.”
NO HE *LITERALLY* WASN’T!!!!!!!
as a black person the only thing i’m concerned regarding severus snape being black now is how they’re going to show swm (if they get that far) without it looking like an attempted lynching and the marauders as raging racists

Why I’m Worried About the Casting Rumors for Snape
Okay, let’s talk about this. There are rumors going around that the Harry Potter reboot might cast a Black actor as Severus Snape, and honestly? I have some concerns. Before anyone jumps to conclusions, this isn’t about race or opposing a diverse cast—it’s about the heart of Snape’s character and what this change could mean for the reboot as a whole.
Snape’s appearance isn’t just a collection of random details from the books. It represents how he’s constantly judged by others, how he’s never the one people look at and think, Here’s a hero. Those physical traits tie directly into the themes of prejudice and isolation that define so much of his character. People dismiss him at first glance, and that dismissal is a huge part of why Snape is who he is.
For characters like Hermione or Ron, changing their appearance wouldn’t alter the essence of who they are. But for Snape, his appearance is part of his narrative. It’s what makes him Snape.
So yeah, this casting rumor worries me. If the creators are willing to ignore such an important aspect of Snape’s identity so easily, what’s to stop them from disregarding or outright altering other key parts of his character? His complexity, his flaws, and the delicate balance of his humanity could all be at risk of being oversimplified or erased.
BREAKING:
An animated adaptation of the well-known children's novel 'HARRY POTTER' is currently in the works ‼‼‼

I won't be watching the HP reboot, obviously, but I do think it would be funny if they made Deamus canon. It won't happen but I would be really funny
