how did you get on dhea? i want to transition hormonally using dhea because i know low dose testosterone would make me too dysphoric and my current body makes me dysphoric to the point of severe dissociation but as soon as ive researched dhea for numerous reasons including health reasons and i've read that dhea both increases androgens and estrogens naturally and i REALLY want that, in addition non typical bottom surgery.
so how did you get on dhea? i have an endocrinologist for pcos with insulin resistance but she suggested spironolactone for my effects due to it (both hair loss and insulin resistance), but I really want to suggest getting on dhea because I heard low dhea (my dhea is around 20) can cause androgenetic hair loss as well and possibly treat insulin resistance and i want to suggest dhea as something that can even out my hormones though not telling her I want it for gender(less) effects.
also, what are the effects of dhea? what does dhea do to the body? what personally do you find gender affirming about it as a unisex person, because I consider myself unisex and epicene (in the lacking gender distinction and characteristics of male and female but neither way) as well, and i want to know if personally, itd be affirming for me
thank you if you answer this question!
I am currently DIY as I don't think my insurance covers it. I dont remember how i learned about it, but it was probably in a fit because i couldnt get T at the time, and i then learned to accept and appreciate DHEA by itelf. i got told to have a "nice day, young man" by a driver because i passed as masculine despite them knowing my legal name. so.. at least i know DHEA has changed my face shape lol.
i first bought dhea from BioLabs, and they are the only DHEA supplier i use for my HRT. it is straight DHEA you want if you are buying from them, either 20mg or 50mg, and NOT the keto. they have it in cream and pills, but

DHEA is produced naturally, and so yes it can increase both your hormones. DHEA is both a weak androgen/estrogen, so it functions to raise your androgens and estrogens, but it is usually used for the chemical effects on your brain and aging problems. on that, DHEA truly begins to work its magic if you have low T or E already, as its seen in aged individuals.
currently, my levels are a little too high, so while each pump is 50mg, i am cutting back my routine to every Monday. while my transition will be through hormones and surgery, i am ultimately going to present externally as nonhuman and want my body to reflect that, so i fell you on the whole non-typical sex traits.

My primary physician didn't stop me from going on it even as she saw how high my levels are/i was not prescribed. i think you should go and talk with her about it and see what she says while you mention what it can do for you. you dont have to tell her it'll help your transition either, just that you want dhea specifically.. DHEA has been associated with decreased insulin resistance, decreased depression and other symptoms.

mostly, it is the change in weight as well as the more androgynous features. when i look in the mirror, i don't see male or female, i see unisex and a lot of that is in the mind. i think DHEA could be a nonbinary choice of HRT that hasn't been cracked open yet because it literally creeps up on you, the effects. they're slow and it makes people like confused. i didn't see anything until like 8 months later, and even then, barely had any chin hair until i started using minoxidil. DHEA is working more on the inside than the outside, and i think people who are focused on the inside will enjoy its small changes. big inside changes, small outside changes. and thats good enough for me because i dont want a beard or tits - i want a deeper voice (got it), more muscle (got it), mental health improvement (yup!), higher libido (definitely), and an androgynous appearance (mhm.)
i am transitioning in order to look like a beast, a non-human, a creature that walks amongst the humans. im not done until i get my horn body mod or nullification surgery, but i know that i have the ability to get them and that they exist as futures for me. that's what makes me so sure i am unisex. i am now, on the inside, hormonally leveled. i am being changed mentally and physically and that is what makes me unisex.
i feel like you should do what you think is best, but only you will know what works. my suggestion is, as it always is, to transition at all costs!
