Five had been sitting at the home bar for a while now, but he hadn’t been drinking alcohol; instead, he had a coffee to sip on while looking though a notebook he found in Reginald’s office, trying to see if he missed anything important that no one else mentioned.

The sound of heels clacking on the hardwood floor stole his attention.

There was no agency to hide what he was looking through. Surely, someone else had done so, at one point or another. He merely dog-eared the page and set the book aside, turning to face his sister.

“...Care for a cup of coffee? I made extra.”

"Let me treat you to something since your birthday is soon, right?" Sumiko asked as the dimples on each of her cheeks deepened when she grinned. Her schedule was a bit all over the place, but it was a rare actual-weekend weekend for her, which didn't deter her from planning to go out when everyone else was as well. The crowd at the mall was typical for the weekend, but she expertly weaved through it with sure steps.

"Before you say anything, I swear it's it's nothing too big or too fancy — just something to eat. Do you like sweets?" she asked as she deftly sidestepped a mother whose hands were clearly too full to notice Sumiko in her path. Out of the corner of her eye, she clocked a larger wall of people making its way toward them.

"Ah, Spirits," she muttered. "Here, follow me." Without much thought, she reached out, took one of Aspen's hands in hers, and gently pulled him away to avoid the crowd near the fringes of the walkway. Sure, he was big enough to not lose, but the opposite couldn't be said the same for her.

The car was mostly in silence as they drove back to the Academy. It had been loud at first with Diego and Klaus explaining what they were doing in an Ice Cream truck and just why Klaus was driving. Luther seemed to recall that Klaus couldn’t do that, he also seemed to recall that an ice cream truck needed a special license. After the excitement, if he dared call it that died down the topic quickly turned to Five who was no where to be seen. No one had an answer, which lead to the quietness that he now faced.

While he couldn’t figure out why Five was gone, he also couldn’t shake what he and Five talked about before the whole fiasco. Five sounded so old, and it was hard to physically wrap his brain around. Despite him understanding the base idea for the math and reasoning behind Five’s appearance, it was just that that caused him to double think. Five had shown no real proof of what he said, yet like always the little twerp commanded a room and you sort of had to listen. It was something Luther had hated when they were kids. Five had a natural leadership, and he well he did, that’s what he told himself at least. And it only made it worse that Five didn’t seem to care that he was like that, probably why he was number five and not number one.

Five told him he had a life to live, which was odd coming from Five if what he said was true. Surely his brother couldn’t have forgotten the other part of the conversation where Luther too had been alone for a large portion of his life. His siblings left one by one, leaving him--- then the moon. What was he outside of Spaceboy? He didn’t know, but he did know is that it all came back to why they were here in the first place. There father. Everyone tried so hard distance themselves from him, and Luther was forcefully distanced, but now they were back, and they just kept having one problem after another. They needed to settle things, figure things out. They needed another meeting, he just hoped being Number One would be enough for them to figure out a plan.

allison, vanya / diego : obviously. there are a lot of things that weren’t explored, especially with diego and vanya. but i love his and allison’s dynamic, you can tell they love each other and i want to see more of them.

beverly / my it muses : i have richie, ben, and my oc danny. bev is clearly the superior loser, and she doesn’t get enough rep. i would love to write with her.

dinah lance / deadshot : two badasses, two assholes, working together to do bad ( or good ) we’ll have to see.

harley / deadshot : obvs, we love suicide squad. plus i feel like they had more chemistry in the movie we didn’t get to see, and their dynamic is fun.

jess / sam : i’m a simple man - i see jessica moore, i fall in love. i can’t believe they never brought her back, i feel like that would have been a good twist, but hey. that’s what fiction’s for.

lydia / blair, atticus : blair and lydia have a similar mindset, and could talk about darkness and death for hours. atticus is an evil boy and he’d try to manipulate lydia by offering to kill her parents for her if she stays with him.

mandy, veronica / bender : two very different dynamics would come out of either muse with john, but both would be equally interesting.

zoe / kyle : because.... we love.
