The Homestuck pilot is literally good if you stop pretending adaptation needs to 1-1 with your PERSONAL interpretation of everything.

"But Dave is rarely shown smiling in the story so its not just mine" Comic Dave and Pilot Dave are the exact same "Insufferable Douchebag" archetype for different eras plus Dave has always been described as mors similar to Roxy then Dirk. Also since when were minor changes the end all be all?

I see people's genuine reactions to pilot Dave being shit like "oh he doesn't act traumatised anymore" (which is patently absurd because Jade is also really fucking traumatised but you nobody likes to think about anyone but Dave) or insinuating that this will somehow get rid of any depth he had which is blatantly wrong and people trying their fucking hardest to shit on the pilot.

Do you think in the full show Sky Henwood AND Andrew Hussie would just, ditch the major fucking plotline? Or are you instantly assuming the worst for no reason?

I think some of you are nostalgia-blind, forgot the contents of the comic, and think fanon voice direction is the end all be all for Homestuck adaptations with any sort of audio elements to them.

Redraw of my favorite Homestuck pilot shot! The pilot itself was not that bad as people claim imo, I quite enjoyed it! My main complain is there is some references that do nothing to the pilot, only confusion for new viewers (I am looking at you, arm in the air.)

Tbh the more I listen to Dave's voice in the pilot the more I come to adore it. Like it hits the cocky, cool kid tone incredibly well and added with Dave's smirks and mannerisms it just fits him flawlessly. Love this guy.
