hey homestuck friends, im re-reading again (using the download)

Thoughts so far:

The Sylladex jokes in the early acts continue to be hilarious, particularly John's disastrous modus - the comedy of watching the pager slip closer and closer to the last slot is really something

Every time Mom Lalonde appears on screen I feel things strongly

I love the exact brand of badass that Rose is, it's the kind that makes me laugh while I'm reading

Before Kanaya's intro, she pops up continuously in other people's introductions, trying to improve their lives (meddle). She's sweet.

Vriska.

First read: Hated her until I Suddenly didn't. Magical. Had the same reaction to Faith from BtVS (the og Vriska archetype).

Second read: Knew I would someday not hate her, but could not help but admit she started out the Worst.

Third (full, linear) read (this one): Finally I have unlocked the truest Vriska. Everything she says, from the beginning, is her trying to hold onto control while also being controlled by her Lusus, Scratch, and the guilt she feels. She's desperate to have people want to be her friend despite the terrible things she's done to them, and every time she feels that slip from her, she makes more harmful choices. It's as Kanaya says, she may step on fewer dice if she cleaned up a bit.

You remember that time when Kanaya licked her own Lusus' blood off of her hand bc she loved vampires so much. That was fucked up. I love her.

Rose Lalonde Overwatch Bio

Role: Offense

Weapon: magic knitting needles

Passive: none

Melee hit: stabs with knitting needles

Primary fire: magic bolts

Secondary Fire: slower exploding projectiles with splash damage

E: grabs and moves an opponent quickly; good for boops

Shift: floats for 2 seconds- silent, quicker, and good for bridging gaps

Ultimate: Shift dashes to different enemies to stab them with needles for 6 seconds; unless she kills the opponent or moves to the next, she can control their movement for the duration of the ult

Dave Strider Overwatch Bio

Role: Support

Weapon: Turn Tables / Sword (scroll wheel to alternate)

Passive: Looks like a cool dude and plays sweet music; different skins have different tunes

Melee hit: Bats at player with open hand; takes both hands off turn tables if applicable

Primary fire: Sends out music waves that heal, growing weaker and wider the farther they are / melee sword attack

Secondary Fire: throws a record like a disk to armor teammate / none

E: Bolt of slow moving expanding sound wave- stuns enemy up close w low spread, slows enemies hit from farther

Shift: Teleport

Ultimate: Reverse Time - heals all damage inflicted to teammates within 15m radius in last 4 seconds; revives all teammates killed in last 2 seconds

Skins (examples):

Primary: Default sprite outfit (with baseball sleeves of course)

Rare: Heart shirt and pointy shades; black suit; green suit; derse dreamer

Jade Harley Overwatch Bio

Role: Defense

Weapon: Rifle

Passive: None

Melee hit: smack with the butt of her rifle

Primary fire: hip rifle shots, larger bursts with slight spread damage, more falloff, slower

Secondary Fire: scope; while holding right click, left click becomes a sniper rifle, about half as strong as widow’s to encourage some close-up fighting with primary

E: pops an enemy out of existence for 3 seconds (similar aim to shooting); their cooldown timer freezes and they don’t regain passive health; what the enemy sees is a generic starry background for the duration

Shift: teleports; similar to reaper’s shadowstep in distance and functionality, but uses a little portal to move

Ultimate: creates a mei-like ring which targets any enemies within radius- 6 portals open up for 3 seconds around the ring; corresponding portals open up directly in front of teammates, allowing them to fire one-way shots into the circle; alternatively, a player can step through the portal, or send their ult through, but any movement into the portal closes it; dead teammates cannot fire into the ring, leaving their portal space empty
