All these questions are really similar and really hard to answer, but I’ll try to pick a different story for each one just to keep it interesting XD

7. What story/headcanons do you feel the proudest of?

Picking everyone’s powers in villains was a lot of fun! And also how they would all work with each other, how different it would be to the original story, etc.

Also the entire existence of Theo (as seen in: in violent symphonies) is always interesting to write, though I would never claim to be proud of him XD

15. What is the fanfic you’ve written that you’re most proud of?

The apocalypse series, for sure! I’m enjoying the hell out of writing it (most of the time) and it’s kinda different than most of the things I write. Also while it has a smaller audience than, say, stairs, the readership always felt more vocal about it? People have discussed theories in the comments. It’s fun.

36. What fanfic of yours has the symbolism you’re proudest of?

Aaaaah, this is hard. I guess I kinda enjoyed the imagery in the bad Philip//Henry flashback in the stairs chapter of those markings. (can be read on its own!) Idk  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Shame on you for forcing me to toot my own horn.

9. Which idea came to you first in [Playing His Game]? 

I think it was a prompt tbh! Something like the villain seeing the hero hurt and going like “who did this to you?”. I love complicated villain/hero relationships so I thougth I’d give it a shot. (Also writing the villain in this one has been SO fun). Funnily enough, I’m not sure if the prompt will make it in after all XD We’ll see.

10. What are some facts readers may not know about [volatile times]?

--I’m contemplating writing a post-end spinoff about something I cannot talk about due to spoilers. XD

--I spent like 10 minutes arguing (with you) that Henry dying at the end would make excellent narrative sense both due to the genre and quite a few cases of foreshadowing to it.

--Because I’m not the kind of asshole who’d do MCD without warning, I will probably write an alternate ending where that happens instead (because I’m just enough of an ass to write it anyway XD)

--The girls from the Pride chapter in those markings were supposed to show up in the house the boys have been staying the past couple of chapters as the people who were originally bunking there. There was actually a small hint to that when Lisa said the place was surprisingly stocked! It was because someone was supposed to be staying there. XD Unfortunately there were already too many ocs! Instead, one of them briefly showed up in villains.

--The entire roadtrip Alex and Henry went through was thoroughly planned using google maps, taking into account how often they would need to stop, how long they can drive, and sunset and sunrise times. All the places they have stopped are real places on the way between New York and Texas and they match the time they should have/ could have been driving!

(I used to have a lot more time of my hands).

6. which book do you wish you wrote?

Not gonna lie, I wish I could write something as wholesome and entertaining and just so good as RWRB. But tbh, I don’t usually wish I wrote my favourite books. I wish my own stories were half as good as those books were though! Ultimately I just want to write a book that makes someone feel the way RWRB and ADSOM and [enter fave book here] made me feel, instead of having written something someone else did!

7. what’s your favorite aesthetic to write? (i.e. autumn, ocean, forest, crappy motel, etc)

I cannot believe I have an answer to that but I DO! I think my favourite aesthetic is detached urban landscape during the night, as in a busy bar street seen from a distance, muted music playing in the background, alive but just out of reach.

I think there used to be a bit of a thing with Grantaire and apples too? Like it wasn’t big and it would have been a few years ago, but I think it used to be a thing and idk why (id check my copy of the brick but it’s across an ocean rn)

Oh yeah, that’s definitely a thing. That’s because during one of his many rants he talks about pilfering apples (hi pilf) while he was supposed to be studying art (that’s also where the Grantaire is an artist/art student comes from).

Hi! I was just wondering if you're thinking of turning your art into prints (possibly with a story on the back or somehow otherwise included)? I'd love to buy them for some of my history major friends!

I do have them on Redbubble! There’s also links at the bottom of each profile on the website. 

Additionally, I do have an online store that I run out of  my house, where I can send out autographed books and enamel pins and stickers. It’d be too much for me to have all the prints (and t-shirts, and whatnot) on hand in my house, so for now I have the two different outlets for selling things. It’s a little weird, I know, but it’s what I am able to do for now.

☁️ (my studyblr is @notes-and-mugs) I went to the state fair today and saw a baby cow being born! The birth was a bit slimy/gross, but the baby was adorable and they named her Ellie!

I HAVE ANOTHER HC R with dyslexia or ADHD or something asks a professor to get notes from someone in class for him. The notes are good, but the margins are full of awful doodles and protest slogans and counterpoints to the prof's arguments. R makes a point to sit by everyone in the class and it turns out that handwriting belongs to the cute blonde boy who's living off coffee and protein bars. R redraws the bad doodles and makes posters for rallies as a thank you. He puts them in E's bag secretly

OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH

at first enjolras is so confused as to who could have possibly left these doodles in his bag?? and one day the cute, scruffy boy from his gender and sexuality class comes into one of his meetings and starts to contradict everything he says, joking around instead of taking his words seriously. after the meeting, enjolras goes to confront him and sees a paper of doodles in front of grantaire, recognizing the art style.
